Most of my racing is done in the omnium format (usually three races plus a feature. Scratch, points, elimination, tempo, etc.) . I put these events on my calendar using the regular A, B, C classification according to how important they are. I code them as criteriums because because I figure that’s the closest. And I usually put them in at an hour of duration (a recent race day included a 27 min warmup and ~35 min of racing).
I’m curious about how AI reads these and then how it incorporates them into my training data. Only one of the races can be matched with the event. And it’s the race day that’s the event with the prioritization, not any one race within it.
That is, except for my A event at the end of the season, Masters Nationals, where there are events on subsequent days - Individual Pursuit, Kilometer, Scratch, Points (not doing the sprint tourney this year
). I treat this block as an overall A event.
How does AI handle these data? How should I put the events on my calendar?
And, my occasional cry in the wilderness - I think the power profiles of most track races differ meaningfully from any of the race types TR recognizes. So while the overall training is great and the advice that’s occasionally been given to use the crit plans is sound, I wish TR would do a deep dive into mass start track racing and apply the lessons to its training plans.
