Metrics on new AI FTP Detection + TrainerRoad AI

I am not sure I totally understand the “new” FTP. Many analogies have been shared above, like a more accurate power meter. If that’s the case why isn’t the “new” FTP my real FTP. One that I can use to pace by. If it’s not and as also described above the AI is only looking at power not FTP to progress my training, then doesn’t the system look at the power in context of Zones? How else would it define certain types of workouts. Im doing my best to wrap my head around the context and trying understanding just may need some additional explanation.
