Last minute 4 day trip in the middle of first Vo2 week

Happy New Year’s Eve! Got a last minute 4 day vacation coming up this week, 1/8-1/11. Problem is I never added that to my training plan. This week is my recovery week and next week is my first week of a build Vo2 block. “A”race is February 22. Wondering if I should start my week a couple days early or try to front load the week and take the 3-4 days off as a mini recovery. Don’t think I’m gonna be able to get on a bike on the trip. Looking for advise on how to treat this. I know 4 days isn’t huge in the grand scheme of things if things but I’m trying to stay on track. Thanks in advance

What is your A race? The difference of 1h crit and 6h hilly/climbing race is kinda big. :blush:

I would follow the plan as is and apply a Training Adjustment on the days you’ll be off :slight_smile:

I would not front load the week prior to your 4 day vacation. Reason why is because while you may not be training you’ll have other stressors that come when traveling/on vacation haha. I always wish there was a vacation after the vacation, because unless you’re locking yourself in a spa the entire time you’re not resting :sweat_smile:
