Jonathan. PLEASE quit interrupting Nate and Chad! It is SO annoying!

Jonathan is an excellent host. Sometimes he prompts people to move the topic forward but he also helps ensure the podcast it’s just a dry lecture but fun, digestible and entertaining.

I echo that this post is harshly worded and encourage Jonathan not to take it to heart.

And a response like this is why people like and respect you so much. Being the host can be tough and takes a ton of work. You have to do countless hours of research to know what questions to ask, design a question set and show that flows well, deliver great information in the right order so people can follow along, and leave listeners feeling satisfied and full of information. Then, you have actually make that happen live.

I think Jonathan is a great host. The whole dynamic between the trio is great
And when he’s not there you certainly notice the difference !
Keep up the great work

It’s the combination of open & casual conversation of 3 really smart and interesting people that make this such a great pod cast. I’m sure there are other formal & much more boing things to listen to. Don’t mess with the magic

@Jonathan I like the conversational nature of the podcast and the flow works well, makes it like a true discussion rather than a scripted interview. Keep up the good work!

This is true for me as well, especially since he doesn’t drink! NOPE!

I will condone @Jonathan talking less on the podcast only if he uses the extra time to go make more MTBpodcast

What’s going on here, why is everyone so down on Jonathan? These three are a seasoned team when it comes to hosting podcasts, and their interaction dynamics is part of what makes the podcast more appealing to me.

@Jonathan Agree you are an great host. You guys always ask for feedback and suggestions from listeners and I have to say I have some sympathy for Monarch’s view. The podcast would be improved by letting each other finish sentences and complete trains of thought. Credit to you for your mature response.
Keep up the great work, I very much enjoy the podcast content and banter. 4.9 stars! And greetings from Australia.

I’ve listened to a lot of the podcasts and have never really noticed any glaring interruptions by Jonathon that derail the flow. As the facilitator he needs to keep things moving to hit the agenda and goals of the podcast. That’s his job and he does a very good job of it. I actually think all the guys do a good job of stepping in and out of conversations.

OP makes it sounds like it’s all the time. I’ve been in office situations where interruptions consistently happen and the main topic of the conversation is lost due to an overriding co-working driving their own agenda. I don’t find this is the case with the TR Podcast.

Topic gets discussed, value gets added by other hosts, items captured in forum, move on to next topic, profit

Can’t say I’ve noticed this at all, but I do wish people wouldn’t be so ultra-defensive on the TR guys behalf when anyone makes a comment that could be construed as even mildly negative. You can’t please all the people all of the time, but if all that was ever given was positive feedback, there would be liitle incentive for improvement to either the product, or the podcast.
For my part, I wish Jonathan would find an alternative to the word “ton”, but it’s an extremely minor peeve and doesn’t detract from what are enjoyable and informative pods.

My thoughts on the podcast.

Does Jonathan interrupt too often? Sometimes, so does Nate.
Is it a major issue? Not at all.
Could it be better? Yes.
Is it really worth discussing further? No.

I’ve listened to every episode. I’ve learned a ton and been thoroughly entertained.

In short, the podcast is amazing. Don’t change anything about the host dynamics. You are all incredible.

If I was going to be critical, it would be on an entirely different issue. The material obsession you reveal in the podcast does make me rather sad. I get that Jonathan and especially Nate love equipment. However, endless purchasing of every latest cycling gizmo is the polar opposite of what you should be promoting.

I would suggest a message that, the bike you HAVE is great. No, you certainly don’t need to buy the latest whatever for your next race, as it is likely not going to make any kind of difference anyway.

Training makes you faster.

If we are actually going to do a better job of looking after our beautiful planet, then I suggest using your strong platform to fight against rampant materialism, not wholeheartedly promote it.

This probably seems very left field. You are probably unaware you are actually doing it.

You are, it’s a very common theme. You can and should do better.

We must all do better.

If this seems negative, it’s not supposed to be. I really do love the podcast, I’m just over hearing about the billionth Specialized bike/gadget you’ve purchased in the last three years.

@Jonathan I think you’ve got it about spot on. It’s a three way conversation not a TED talk. I like the banter. If I want a monologue I’ll listen to an audio book. Keep it up guys.

Looking forward to hearing the Kona athlete interviews!

BS dont change a thing, its had plenty of 5 stars and been running years. As the saying goes, “if it’s not broken, don’t fix it”.

For what it’s worth, whenever I have seen the eps, I always thought Jonathan was the glue that holds the whole thing together and makes things flow. It’s a good team.

Jonathan is an excellent host, It is one of my favorite podcast. Keep doing an amazing job (@Jonathan , @Nate_Pearson , @chad and of course Pet). Five stars podcast.

I’ve submitted this same feedback multiple times:
“Great show, but please stop talking over each other and interrupting”.

I’ve been considering gathering some really bad moments to give them a specific sense of what we’re experiencing.

I finally got around to listening to last week’s episode with this thread/complaint in mind. I didn’t really notice the interruptions except when Nate called them out for disrupting his “flow”. Otherwise, I was more aware of the “yeah”, “uh huh” acknowledgements and “active listening” by Jonathon in that episode. I think that is a little bit disruptive to a podcast listener, wherein it might not be if you’re watching the video or sitting in the room having a conversation.

Anyway, I’ve no complaints about the podcast. They’re SOOOOOO much better now than back in Episode 1. It’s pretty fun to go listen to the first batch and see how much they’ve evolved and developed great chemistry between then and now.

Exactly. Plus, they invested in good audio equipment to make the podcast sound better.
