Yesterday I completed my first ‘ultra/v long’ distance ride. 8hrs. 130miles. It was bc a c/b event since it is still early in the year.
Today is a red day on both balanced c and demanding settings. However, tomorrow’s workout is either stickney for balanced and antelope-2 for demanding.
The AIFTP detection suggests an ftp of 225 (0 change) for the demanding setting and balanced drops this to 222.
I’m absolutely knackered today. The ride yesterday was .7IF. I’m not sure a human coach would suggest it tbh. Thursday too may be a toughie too. (Antelope -2 if I don’t do it tomorrow, garrowby +1 if I do antelope-2 tomorrow)
I’m wondering if I should just knock tomorrow’s on the head.
- Go for an outside gravel bike ride pottering about and getting coffee (association with stickney) despite the drop in FTP this will bring about.
- stick with the balanced plan and change stickney for the intense workout (antelope-2) that is being modified down to stickney due to it being a yellow day. (AIFTP detection seems to get very confused by this and spends ages buffering).
- Just stick with the demanding plan to try and maintain my FTP.
- Pick a lower IF intense workout than Antelope-2 tomorrow.
- Sack off the plan until after my early season training camp on March 13th-21st. To where I’ll be doing long unstructured rides day on day. With a focus to build saddle time and multi day training.
As ever thoughts are greatly appreciated.
PS. AIftp Is now buffering but not offering any value. On both the career and calendar pages.
