That, and they will be pushed to popular bike computers.
Great stuff.
Canāt wait until push to Wahoo head unit works⦠I need it TOMORROW⦠is that ok?

@Nate_Pearson, will the Garmin beta show up like the other beta programs on the site? Or will there be a secret knock to enter?
Knock knock
Is the end result of rides directed by our head units going to be an analysis page like current indoor workouts, with our performance graphs overlaid on the intended structure? Thatās one of the best features Iād TR⦠the easy to digest post-analysis
I cant see the choice for outdoor and indoor - still the āoldā format - im I missing something?
Thanks alot ![]()
Ok sorry just starting this thread but can you do an ftp test outside?
Yes of you do the 20 min test. Best done on a slightly uphill stretch of road without any junctions.
No however I surmise whatever his FTP is, he can sustain different power numbers overs 20ā depending whether he is riding inside or outside.
I think there needs to be an outside ftp test so users who will prefer to train primarily outside can have a relevant baseline. Then in winter when they move inside will have to recalibrate with an indoor ftp test
FWIW, I have a powertap and dumb rollers.
In my basement, (I never used a fan because I didnāt realize the performance loss from overheating but anywayā¦) my 20min power in ftp test was barely 280 while hitting 305 to 310 outside.
Other factor was roller size was a little big forcing me to do an unnatural 105 or so cadence to maintain 280watts So to hit 300 watts inside would be crazy cadence just not possible for me. (In biggest gear)
I will add an idea for the future to have inside/outside for the swim in tri training plans. Great feature btw
Apologies if this has been already covered.
Is there a reason why structure of intervals changes from indoors to outdoors. E.g. 5x7 supra-TH to 4x12 O/U? Or in one particular case a VO2 workout AND Supra-TH BOTH convert to the same VO2 intervals workout? I have noticed a pattern whereby intervals are fewer and longer. Is that the intent? Thank you.
Simply to make them more manageable outdoors. Itās a work in progress, expect numerous updates and tweaks as they venture into this.
TSS is not TSS, and all TSS is not created equal.
Based on forum feedback, we are switching our endurance rides to be a 1:1 ratio.
The reason we did that is because of another unreleased feature that wonāt be ready for a few months. In hindsight it might make sense.
But, based on feedback weāre going to change our approach and make it a 1:1 for most workouts (weāll start with plan workouts) and have the exact same name for some outside rides that donāt change. Galena would be a good example.
This is a lot of work, but weāve got people on it right now.
You are our ideal customer! ![]()
If you look at our members as a whole, there will be a large number of people who will use this feature during the summer months.
Once itās ready, everyone with the current outside workout early access feature turned on will get it.
Maybe
. Iām putting the cart before the horse but weāre trying to see if we can programtically tell if you did the workout correctly or not. That opens us up to do a lot of stuff.
I would temper your enthusiasm for this feature though. It will be hard to āget rightā, and if our first approach doesnāt work our second apporach is more time intensive on our side.
