🎉 🎉 🎉 Introducing Adaptive Training! 🎉 🎉 🎉

Great news on the updates… but it’s not retroactive right?

My PL are almost all down to 1 since I’m exclusively outside this time of year.

Correct, it’s not retroactive and will only impact stuff from here forward.

ETA: Apparently if you did outside workouts in the last 7 days, you may still be able to set an association between one you did that was scheduled (and presumably not already associated). So that may work in some cases.

Should we be automatically prompted with a survey when we complete the outdoor workout? I still had to manually click on Missing Response to fill out the survey for my outdoor workout Saturday. I’m assuming that means no prompt quite yet. Additionally, I didn’t have the option to answer the survey on Android mobile, and I’ve followed up on an active support ticket I’ve got in that regard.

That said, I can confirm that I received the pass survey and upon answering it, my level appears to have adjusted relative to the finished workout! :tada: :tada: For added reference, I use a Wahoo head unit. That should excite many folks on the forum!

I completed McAdie a few minutes ago. I noticed that clicking on any of the :grey_question: button would return NULL.

I should add that I did add 10 minutes to the CD.

Also, this is from the desktop application 2021.30.0139 on MacOS BigSur 11.2.2.

Those ? buttons are for the pending “tips” info with more details about each optio, as we request in the survey response thread.

The ones in the Struggle have good info and they seem to still be working on adding those in the Pass, or there is a bug if they already have it somewhere.

If I remember correctly, in the past if you did a ride outside and then tried to add a workout after the fact it wouldn’t count toward AT or progression.

Is this now different, where we can take a ride and outdoors and associate it with a workout? Or do we still need to have a workout scheduled before we go do the ride.

This sounds to me like you can associate after the fact so long as you associate the outside version. I’ve not tried what you’re describing though, so if you try it, let us know the outcome.

Recorded an indoor freeride on my Garmin this morning then added an outdoor TR workout to my calendar and associated the ride with it. PL updated correctly :ok_hand:

And the same happened today on my Bolt. Did the outside ride [casual Z2], came home, found a 2-hour Z2 ride in the library, scheduled it for today, outside. Then associated the outside ride with the TR outside workout. Got the survey, got the PL of the workout, all set!
Yay!

Yup, as noted with the new feature from Ivy, that association process should work now.

Thanks! I just wanted to clarify as it was a common topic and question over the past several months.

Doesn’t sound normal to me. 19 days since I last did a sweet spot workout that bumped it to 5.2. It’s still at 5.2 for me…

Thanks for chiming in. There is definitely something still off with the decay rates. I understand high end fitness may taper off quicker so I’d expect a bit more decay with Vo2 than Endurance, but it’s definitely off IMO

I’ve decided my best option with the missing surveys is just to submit and then press the refresh button in the calendar. Seemed to work today so I’ll see how it goes going forward.

Random curious Workout Level observation.

Why is Mont Gosford-1 a 3.5 and Whorl a 3.1?

Shorter warmup and cooldown?

The TSS, IF and kJ are all about the same.

So I finished a full base-build cycle using adaptive training. I’m trying to put together a bit of a recap/review video of my experience (mainly as TL:DR for people who haven’t watch my ongoing series), but I’m wanting it to be a bit more than just scrolling through my calendar, so I’m soliciting any questions from folks, doesn’t matter if you’re currently on AT or not, if anyone is curious about any aspect of having done a good amount of AT. Feel free to reply privately to me so it’s not polluting this thread!

Even seemingly insignificant differences in TSS, IF, kJ, and warmup/cooldown duration can have an impact of 0.4 on a Workout Level. This is normal/expected.

I understand, it was a tongue in cheek comment. I don’t think it’s of any importance.

It’s weird though as Whorl has the higher numbers in all three metrics mentioned :man_shrugging::joy:.

that is what I just did.
