Increasing warmup when using Zwift for TR workout

Am I missing an obvious way to extend the warmup when using Zwift vs the TR platform for a workout? These 5 minute warm ups before VO2 aren’t cutting it  I usually “just ride” and then start the workout after 10-15 minutes but was wondering if there was a way to have it capture it in the workout. Thanks.

Yeah, IDK. I may be wrong, but I think as long as it’s recorded and uploaded to TR, it doesn’t need to be part of the workout as far as AI and adaptations are concerned. I do think it’s cleaner to have it part of the workout rather than a separate activity, so maybe there is a way.

It’s really rather simple… after starting Zwift, load up a ride on whatever route you like (NOT a workout), ride until you feel you’ve warmed enough (example 10 minutes). Stop pedaling but DO NOT END THE RIDE. When the menu button shows up, click it and go into the workout menu and from there, select your TR workout. It will load the workout up, keeping your warmup intact. Once the workout is done, end the ride as normal, and it will be synced to TR as one ride

Easy Peasy!

I’ll sometimes extend the WU of a VO2 workout as well and as already mentioned I’ll start a free ride for a bit and then load in the workout.

TR captures this free-ride portion as part of the ride file. From what I understand I did appear to get extra “credit” for the extended WU as per the workout levels?

For context the workout was Monadnock -2 and I free-rode up the Sgurr climb in Scotland as an extended WU, loading the workout when I was safely down the other side

Will_Peters suggestion is the way I do it. You can also keep riding at the end of the workout if you want.

You don’t need to stop pedaling to access the Menu button.

Thanks. I wasn’t sure this was recorded as “part of the workout” the way it obviously was in the TR platform. This is what I have been doing, put I miss the “extend warm up” button!

Not sure if this is different on other devices, but on iPad you don’t have to stop pedaling. Just tap the screen, then select menu>workouts>select your workout and begin.
