It’s almost time for the winter training to show its results. I have been a tr user for years and the winter segment started in late September and ends on the 19th of April. At that point I have to travel to take care of my elderly mom who is having knee surgery. During that three week time I will be using dumb bikes in a gym as there will still be snow where she lives and outdoor training is just plain dangerous. Thus my Ai training will resume hopefully on May 11th.
I am doing the masters demanding right now and will continue that during the next time period. This gives me 5 days of training per week with:
M- off T- hard W- recovery T- longer recovery F-off S-hard S-long ride
in the summer ideally I ride with my group on Thursday and Sunday. Thursday is a gravel ride of up to three hours and Sunday is a an ez ride of three hours. Of course if it rains or is just plain is crappy I ride indoors.
My question is with the new Ai do I just program the five days the same as I did for the fall winter segment and when I ride outside I just let the Ai adjust and do what it says? OR do I do something trickier and have the two outdoor rides set on my calendar and then somehow determine what I am to ride if the outdoor ride is cancelled. Typing this the choice seems obvious but I want to utilize the new Ai toy we have been given to its fullest and of course get faster
