How to import or record Fitbit-tracked workouts on my TrainerRoad calendar?

I’ve been using a Fitbit watch for some years, along with my TrainerRoad subscription. I’d like to record non-TrainerRoad workouts on my TrainerRoad calendar so that AI FTP Detection and Red Light/Green Light understand their impact. Fitbit continuously tracks heart rate, but uses a “Cardio Load” metric to summarize the exercise effort. Is there a way (at least) to convert “Cardio Load” to TSS? Is there any hope of an official TrainerRoad integration to pull exercises recorded in Fitbit into my TrainerRoad calendar?

Are you talking about recording bike workouts?

If so, are you recording power data?

If you have power data, we’ll calculate the TSS for you. If you don’t have power data, you can use HR to estimate your TSS.

All you need to do is set that up in your TrainerRoad account online. Check out the Help Center article below!

I’m talking about recording on the TrainerRoad calendar the training stress from my non-bike workouts like Boot Camp, hiking, and Orangetheory classes.

Ahh, okay.

We’ve recently added a bunch of supported activity types to TR. You can record them with a smartphone or wearable device into Strava or Garmin Connect, and as long as that third-party software is synced with TrainerRoad, you should see those activities pop up in your TR calendar.

Do you use Garmin or Strava currently?

Here is a list of the non-cycling activities we now support:

  • Swim
  • Transition
  • Walk
  • Hike
  • Strength Training
  • Ski/Snowboard
  • Golf
  • Row
  • Yoga
  • Paddleboard
  • Kayak
  • Other (includes all other types not listed above)

As you can see, anything that doesn’t fit into one of the main sport types can be recorded as an “other” activity.

I’ve linked a couple of Help Center Articles about this for you to check out below.
