How to Disable FTP Prediction & AI Training Simulation when NOT Using TR Plans?

I’m not using TR Plans, and my workouts are schedule in TrainingPeaks so only the next couple of days sync over to TrainerRoad. Given this, how do I turn off the useless for me FTP Prediction & AI Training Simulation?

Click on the ftp prediction either on career (maybe) or the day or shows on calendar (definitely) and you can turn it off.

I do not believe you can turn off the simulation at this time check planned fixes thread to see if it’s in the works or not.

The steps to turn off FTP prediction that you outline don’t work if there isn’t a prediction value shown. That’s the dilemma I’m in.

Was wondering if that was going to be the case.

@SeanHurley something to “fix”?

Even if you turn AI FTP prediction off, the widget still shows, both in career page and in calendar view.

It’s only a small thing, but that annoyed me when I turned it off

I’m more annoyed by the AI Simulation on my calendar - there really needs to be a way to turn this off completely

I don’t see why?

Seems like a reasonable enough request?

I didn’t see your thread but could it possibly be the way you said it rather than the request itself?

I would really like to know how to disable the recent updates too.

I feel like the app is really bloated now. I much preferred the slimmed down app.

I don’t need or want the AI stuff. I have a pair of legs which tell me when I’m tired so I don’t need the fatigue warning.

I hate the function when I pick a workout and the AI says it is too hard and gives me something easier. I chose it for a reason!!

The whole app looks awful now.

But AI is perfect, it always knows the best / perfect workout for you! It works like magic

As a TR user, this feels like a reasonable request that isn’t written in a trolling manner, so not sure why it would get removed. If it did, that would be a real red flag.

This…

This is written reasonably and a logical request to a problem for someone using it in this way.

Do you have Account => Settings => Fatigue Detection turned off?

I generally accepted recommendations, but I did like to option to accept or skip recommendations tbh. Especially yellow day downgrades when I knew I had a lighter day forced due to work/ family/ life the following day.

I think the original workout is still on the calendar, sort of hidden behind the recommended workout. There should be a white tab above the recommended workout to get to the original workout. So it auto-replaces workouts, but leaves a link to the original workout if you want to choose it.

I think the stacked monoply cards only works in certain situations. Like a yellow day it will do that, or if you have the extend time feature on it will show your 1 hour behind the suggested 1:15 for example. But if you finish a workout or skip a workout and it wants to change things when you open calendar again it will just change what it wants with no option.

Torn on this one, under old adaptive training I never set it to auto accept and would always review, sometimes noting one or two changes and just doing those manually even. That option is gone, I thought I’d hate it but personally done. I can see though why someone wouldn’t want this. Tough one since that is in a way a major part of the ai, if you keep rejecting stuff then the ai won’t be doing its job. But also many seem to not want it at all.

Ah, I didn’t catch that. I never auto-accepted workouts either. Man, lots of changes to deal with in this update (I would say too many, but what do I know…..).

Can you remind us why you dont/can’t run the AIFTP detection?

That’s fair.

But the errors you are seeing is because the system doesn’t think your fitness matches the FTP you are trying to feed into it.

Maybe do a ramp test :man_shrugging:t2:

I don’t know what the answer is.

How is actively fighting it of any benefit?

Accept it and it may not suggest dropping from 4 to 3 for starters. Maybe screenshot before doing anything.

If it still does just do it and ignore fatigue warnings and it will learn you can do it right now it thinks your ftp and volume are too high. Fix one.

Dropping ftp slightly may give you more productive workouts. You may also see that playing with training approach doesn’t drop you in the future.

You haven’t tried it so you cannot say it will or won’t work.
