How many hours have you guys done this year so far on the bike?

428 hrs, 12200km.

Final 2021 numbers….620 hours / 11,700 miles. Lost some time / mileage this week due to scheduled medical procedure and home improvement projects.

Highest volume year so far….

ETA - buddy of mine has double that….1200 hours and 26.8k miles. :flushed::flushed:

Jeez that’s a lot of saddle time for your buddy…. Hope he’s fit😳

Does he have a full time job (besides riding)

The cycling year actually starts November 1st, just saying

Just got back from my last ride in 2021:

Cycling (spent an awful lot of time indoors, I don’t count distance for these):

wow… does any other kind of life fit into this schedule? this is really a very large investment of time. just wow

I made it to 212h in 145 rides this year. With job, loads of kids and plenty to take care of I am happy I found this amount of time at all  And still I feel exhausted

Biggest year for me so far:

520 hours of riding (worked out to exactly 10 hours a week )
61 hours of running

Riding broken up as follows:

200 on the road bike
288 on the cargo bike (most of which with at least one kid)
28 on the folding bike
4 on other random bikes

145 commuting various places (if it replaced a car ride of any kind, it counts)
1 hour on the trainer this year

What really set this year apart was the cargo bike. I was able to take the kids out on my training rides, and was thus able to be gone longer and more often. My wife literally pushed me out the door. Cargo bike has a power meter, so I’m really able to quantify all my rides. But it’s a little depressing when I’m pushing 300 watts for a power test and my average speed is 17mph!!

Yeah, but he is single and no kids. He usually rides a couple of times during the day and long rides on the weekend. Averages 500 miles / week.

He was a godsend the last 25 miles of The Rift this year and one of our guys was struggling a bit. :sunglasses:

ETA - a fair amount of his miles were on Zwift, so a bit inflated. But he still knocked out a crap ton of hours regardless!!!

I wish TR would kick out an end of year #

wow, great to see. putting my kids next to each other so close would lead to quite bike-destabilizing fights and quarrels up front

I’ve had my fair share of those!!

205 hrs got me to 240 FTP this year at 56yrs old. Had 165 hrs in 2020.

Rode 0 mi in 2019, 47 miles in 2018, 21 mi in 2017. Lost 30 lbs in 2020 so I’m extremely happy with my time in saddle this year and last. Goal is 300 hrs this year, which is achievable if I get a chunk of those in early am on the trainer and negotiate with wife and young kids for one long ride every week or two…

That’s awesome, Darrell……keep plugging away and reap the benefits!!

Have a great 2022!

Only 357 hours for me.

Just clicked over 6000 miles but missed the 10,000 kms by about 290 Kms as life got on the way this last fortnight.

Turns out well over 75% of that time was indoors using TR :+1:t2::muscle:t2::smiley:

First, that is awesome. Congrats.

Second, I wish some of you would stop using the word “only”. You are your only measuring stick. No one’s situation is the the same and we al do what we can / what we want.

Embrace your achievements….don’t qualify them.

Have a great 2022, all…here’s hoping the wind is at our backs and the pavement is smooth! :sunglasses:

Bit less than last year due to more racing (taper /
Recovery days). Plus took December a bit easier as felt a bit fried / ill.

About 680 hours on the bike, remainder running and a bit (not enough!!!) swimming.

Bike stayed about same as prior year in terms of race results although suspect a reduced level of zwift racing has led to less punch and more diesel power profile.

According to my Veloviewer infographic, it’s 379hrs.

Who knew?

Thanks - you make a very good point.

I guess being a reasonably regular viewer of this forum I see so many high performing riders that I often feel pretty sub-par in comparison :joy:

I wish you a fantastic 2022 :+1:t2:

Since I started riding in 2015 every year has been more then the previous year. So the trend has been good.

255 hours this year and 6,960 kms.

453 hours (rounding up from 452hr 58 minutes as I’m sure I missed sometime somewhere ):

  • 255 total rides
  • 196 TR rides
  • 1 RGT ride
  • 58 outdoor rides
  • 11,481.8 km distance ridden
  • 57,311 m climbed

420 hours of hike and another 100 in gym or hiking/walking. It was a busy year off the bike so a little low compared to more normal years.
