How does Adaptive Training view added runs for a TSS target?

If I’m doing an Adaptive Training plan and start adding runs on multiple days, will the plan adapt the targets to keep my TSS in a certain range?

I’m trying to do a structured running AND cycling plan for my first ever Duathalon (Olympic), I chose an Adaptive Masters plan w/3 workouts a week and then manually creating running workouts that reflect my Garmin plan.

I’m concerned about jumping in too hard and thought a Master’s Program might be a better option since it allows more rest (which maybe I’ll need due to running 3 other days a week). I was intending to just upgrade the endurance rides to stretch if I was feeling really good after a few weeks.

Is this the best way to go? Or would it be better to have a non-Master’s program and change to easier rides? I’m 49 and basically untrained, so leaning towards ensuring I have enough recovery.

AFAIK, AT only looks at cycling workouts (within the stated caveats as well).

Runs, swims or any other non-cycling info is not considered at all.

That is what I thought, but then got an suggested changes to my adaptive plan after doing some runs. I figured the suggested changes were just coincidentally timed but started wondering if it had gotten more compressive to protect against overtraining recently.

If & when they open AT to these other types of workouts, I expect they will make a proper announcement (which I have not seen). Until then, I’d say what you saw was most likely a coincidence.
