How can users manually add a planned rest day to the calendar?

Is there a way to manually add a rest day to the calendar when the AI does not classify the next training day as yellow or red? Currently, the rest-day icon only appears when it is assigned automatically by TR. However, if I plan a day off in advance, the calendar remains empty. While this is a minor issue, a rest day is still a rest day — and since icons can already be added for sickness or time off, it would make sense to allow users to mark planned rest days as well.

Click on your and add a ‘time off’ notification (Training Adjustment)

yes, that’s an alternative, but it’s not quite the same, because recovery day has its own icon, where there’s a sofa and napping symbols, but time off has an icon where there’s a plane. In addition, you can set a recovery day with one click, but you can’t do that for time off. Additionally, time off has a completely different purpose: “Time Off: Select this option if you have any planned obligations that may interrupt your training, which may include: Relaxing vacations, Family time around the holidays, Low-stress work functions, A much-needed break from structured training.

A recovery day or day off is more like a planned recovery, which, at the moment, simply leaves an empty white day on the calendar

Why do you need it to say the words rest day? Add note.

The system won’t change how it thinks between blank and the word rest day appearing.

Yes, there’s no direct need — if I want to rest, I’ll rest regardless, whether I write it down as a note or mark it with an icon. The question simply arose because this feature already exists when the AI suggests a yellow or red day, and it’s both elegant and practical. So why not offer the same option alongside time off, illness, and similar statuses?

and in addition, such an option would also go along with the idea of structured training, where you plan a day off in your calendar. For example, TP has such an option.

Those are marking non standard days off. Ones you might want to reference back to in the future as to why you didn’t workout, a blank day is just obviously a rest day.

If a training plan put a couch up for any day it didn’t have a workout then people would think they can’t workout. So this isn’t something that should be baked into a planning being put on a calendar. So that means it is left as being something you manually do and I personally just can ever see myself wanting to spend time adding couches to blank days.

Please read the question: “How can users manually add..” I’m not speaking about the feature of the training plan. There is currently an empty free day in the calendar. Many of us do not use TR plans, but their plans are, for example, TPs and synced from there to TR. I am a certified cycling coach in my country, I personally do not need TR plans. And things like time off, illness can also only be entered manually, not part of the plan. So the question came from there, why not add this function to the options. Yes, if you don’t feel like entering it, then it’s your choice, but I like it, hence the question

And your question has been answered. It’s not something that exists. If you’re going to get testy about the question then don’t ignore the answers that have already covered it.

What you want is a feature that doesn’t exist. If you’d like this feature add it to the feature request thread. Your question has been answered.

Thank you, now you have answered my question. Initially, you suggested adding a note.

Hey @Evermen

The couch icon is for Fatigue Detection in specific. As @HLaB mentioned, you can manually add them with the Training Adjustment and Notes.

Sure and no problem…I just really want to insert this icon into my calendar, so I know I’m “resting” that day, but right now I have to put myself in a fatigued state first so that this icon appears.

I managed to manually add that icon, but only via the calendar on a yellow or red day on that specific date - I am unable to add it to future or past dates.

I can’t remember exactly how I did it, and I can’t test it today as it’s a normal workout day - tomorrow is a yellow day though, so I’ll report back if I remember.

If you go to Train Now on a yellow or red day you are asked if you want to add a rest day instead. Probably something similar you did.
