Homemade Sports Drinks for training

For training rides I have been mixing 60-75 grams of corn syrup with roughly 20 grams of lemon juice and a 1/4 tsp of salt. This is used for rides that are a hour or longer at higher intensities and I was wondering if this is a good practice to keep up or am I setting myself up for failure consuming this much corn syrup?
