High volume sweet spot base question?

A question for the trainerroad team or any of you who have done the high volume options. In ssbhv1, could you do the first 3 weeks, add a rest week, then do weeks 4 and 5, make week 6 another high volume week, then do the last week as a recovery week? (3 weeks of tss, recovery week, 3 weeks of tss, recovery week, all high volume. 8 weeks total).

I’m almost done with my second time through a full progression, and I was looking at laying the ground work for the start of next season come November. I’m kind of toying with the idea of trying high volume for the first base (I know it’s no easy task) and was wondering if you could break it up a little more to make it more doable, but still reap the benefits of some higher volume.

Totally. That’s a super common progression. There’s some kinda modified work/rest schedule kicking around the forum (I think @Nate_Pearson created it), I’m sure another user will find it & post it. :+1:

Totally valid. I would go so far as to recommend that for the first go at HV work.

I think @mcneese.chad had some good ideas too.

I asked the question on Reddit and Nate gave me the Chad approved answer. After the forum came along, it was discussed in a couple of threads and @mcneese.chad made the info a stand-alone thread:
