Love Grape Nuts. My grandpa ate them when I was a kid 40 years ago. I’ve been eating them regularly since then.
@wstinger I’m kind of the same way. I remember them as an unusual breakfast item on my Grandfather’s table. Grandpa ate 'em and never shared (but honestly, I never asked). Some years later I asked my Mom to get some and she told me ‘Yuck. I’m not buying that stuff.’
That’s probably what sealed the deal to make me really want to eat them.
It has been YEARS since I last had Grape-Nuts. This thread inspired me to purchase some this past weekend, and I’m glad to report this morning was sort of a homecoming for me
Just as good as I remembered them!!!
I would put them on the same playing field…hence while I had a little of both together this morning. OH yeah and a tad bit of maple pecan granola for good measure
I love them! They are in my cereal rotation, along with Shredded Wheat and Raisin Bran. Apparently, I love very high fiber cereals. I’ve only ever eaten Grape Nuts with milk as a bowl of cereal. I’m going to have to broaden my use of them based on this thread.
For those in the US, you can get Grapenuts on Amazon. And so long as you are okay with ordering in bulk, it’s a great deal.
Just googled for UK supply (as I’ve never heard of or tried them) and they cost a fortune.
Its basically pelleted all bran but a bit crunchier than you would imagine. You can find it at Waitrose. Go figure.
Depending on tone, I’m sure everyone can agree with this regarding grape nuts
YEP! I think a lot of people ‘grapenut binge’, though. They get a craving for grapenuts but a cup will satisfy the urge.
2 pounds
Fav cereal ever, save for honey nut cherrrios or maybe frosted mini wheats!!! Lol.
Really. Love the stuff. Good for you, dense carbs, slow burn. Unless your secretly scarfing down entire box at once, while hiding in a dark closet, who care what other people think. You like it and it’s good for you.
I mean with Grape-Nuts you can full-on carbo load with a single bowl of cereal.
