FTP increase detection!

Just started trainer road 3weeks ago or so , and been riding just pure zone 2 , and today my FTP went up from 296 to 331 watts !! The best part is I didn’t do any tests … just automatic FTP detection.. hmmm not convinced ! Looks like TR is glitching.( it went up straight after I updated app today )

Are new people being given the beta not given access to it? sorry its a little confusing since a ton of people have posted they got into the beta today.

Oh yeah almost forgot … my predicted new FTP will be 357watts after 4weeks training … interesting :thinking: might do Spring classics with such a speedy increase :crossed_fingers:

My FTP increased by 15.3%
From 288 to 332.

Yesterday I did sweetspot session.
”Achhorn is 3x23:30-minute intervals where the first minute is spent at 135% FTP before settling in at 93-94% FTP for the long remainder of each interval. Only 2:15 minutes of recovery fall between long effort.”
22 minutes at 262W x 3 with hard start.
It was not easy but not super hard.
My next sweetspot session is
”Eclipse is comprised of 3x20 minute Sweet Spot efforts (88-94% FTP) with 7 minutes of recovery between intervals.”
3x20min ~300W

I don’t think that is right. That is threshold training for me right now and real hard one.

If you are doubting it, you may consider a ramp test or set duration power test (20 minutes or greater) and see how it aligns.

A lot of testers have had similar scenarios to yours where they see workouts on their calendar in the future and they don’t think they can do it or they think it will be too hard, but the vast majority find it is spot on.

Thinking of it another way, those intervals have 7min rest between them whereas your recent hardstarts workout only had 2min between intervals. You also recently did a Threshold Over-Unders workout that had you doing 3 thirteen minute sets at ~287w with only 3min between rest, and you rated that one moderate.

I think you can do Eclipse :slight_smile: .

All that said, that workout is 7 days away and you have lots of training between now and then, so there’s plenty of opportunity for TrainerRoad AI to adjust.

So my FTP dropped 10% when what I really needed was a 9 day week!
