Eh, I don’t want to speculate too hard. It looks like a stock “connected nodes” picture to me rather than a real data viz they’ve produced. So if I was forced to guess, it’s illustrating “machine learning”. But lots of possibilities.
But screw those other ways! ![]()
They build on Azure AFAIK.
That’s nonsense. Everybody knows you get fitter by arguing on the internet!
Just so long as they don’t tell us what it is and add “we can’t commit to an actual release date yet”.
It sounds like they learned from the past: ![]()
It’s a data analytics revelation
What does that exactly mean?
My comment? I’m guessing like everyone else by the way
Just that whatever the the big reveal is, it looks from the imagery that it’s going to be based on their analysis of training data. Could be many things I suppose; demonstrating the effectiveness of their training, major changes to their training plans, or using it for predictive purposes like adaptive training plans…
They clearly gonna reveal a strong correlation between performance and number of forum posts ![]()
No doubt whatever it is it will incorporate Chad’s new workouts that he’s been seen doing on strata.
If it is a big data reveal then to show trainer road works, then its probably not that interesting. We all know it works for most, even DJ says in the video that SS training works. Just which is more optimal which I dont think the TR dataset will be able to provide.
Also I’d believe the TR data is bias towards TR working as you’d unsubscribe if unhappy with results.
It’s going to be about the
“5 steps to blaming TrainerRoad programming “
1: don’t sleep enough
2: don’t eat enough before, during or after workouts
3: never listen to your body
4: don’t read the workout notes, that won’t help
5: don’t use the endless amounts of free resources available to help make your training tailored to your specific needs.
Am I right?

I’m sure I’ve heard Nate say that they have the data from in the order of 90 million workouts available to analyse. Not all those workouts will be part of the standard plans (or workouts subbed as part of a plan) but they should be able to determine compliance, improvement, etc. filtered according to gender, age, prior experience, etc.
What they are unlikely to be able to do is to compare that with similar data from polarised/pyramidal plans since they don’t offer those (as standard, there’s definitely individuals who’ve created their own). It’d be great if they could, both for those who want polarised plans and as a study, though there’d need to be a lot of cleaning up of the data and working out what external factors are affecting compliance, improvement and the like.
I am so, so tired of this ‘listen to your body’ stuff.
What language do bodies speak, exactly? Your body will always say training is hard. Then it will always say it is tired after. How is that helpful in any way whatsoever? These generalities that are thrown around here and on the podcast do a disservice IMO. The cliches are not helpful.
I get it, but when you’re hungry, do you eat?
Yes. When I’m hungry I eat.
So, based on your statement…when training feels like hard work, I should stop and never get on the trainer again?
That’s up to you, it’s your life.
We learn over time. Even me - it’s taken me about six or seven years to get it, but I get the impression most others are a lot quicker.
For the first few years my body only said one thing “lie down and go to sleep.” Not helpful, particularly in the middle of a race.
