Favero Assioma Users

Definitely a fan of pedal PMs (interchangable between bikes) … And the Assioma are great.
The single pro for the Uno is the price, i.e. cheaper. I don’t see any other benefits.
The major con (IMHO), it’s estimating your (overall/total) power. Be clear about that. It’s not measuring your total power (by design), but measuring one side and doubling it. How big the difference is is very subjective.

One other thing (likely minor for most) is Single Leg drills in some workouts will obviously not show any power when you’re unclipped from the non measuring Uno side.

I think the Uno is 415 and Duo is 650. It’s definitely a bargain to go Duo right away cause if you upgrade later the power spindle is 300+. Could always just wait a little longer and save a few bucks, that’s what I’d do. I feel like ERG mode with Powermatch responds quicker, and fluctuates less during intervals with the duo vs stages left

Cheers for the responses and inputs lads,
PM pedals is definitely the way to go for me as I will be changing between bikes and yes it does make more sense to buy Duo as opposed to upgrading from a money point of view, I dont think I have any major imbalances between my legs but I do think my left leg is slightly stronger that could be just subjective though but be interesting to fine out, can you see your L/R power within TR workouts because I run an element Bolt head unit and I wont be able to see it on that as the Assioma dont transmit that info to the Whaoo…yet

I see L/R balance from my Assiomas on my Elemnt Bolt. Maybe you’re thinking of the cycling dynamics metrics.

I totally agree. If price is an issue, I’d go by Heartrate and RPE.
PMs can only be precise, if they measure the whole power. If half of it is guesswork, they are not worth the price.
Why? After the first one or two training years, you’ll train the whole season to gain just a few watts at your FTP. If half of your power is just a guess, your gains are smaller then the measuring tolerance, so your gains are not measurable with this method.

250W feel the same, regardless of using uno or duo. But unless you are training with RPE, when using uno, you won’t know if it is 250W, 230W or 280W.
And of course there may be this one guy, who has 50/50 in all power zones. He won’t need the duo.
But there are also guys like Coach Chad, who can tell you their watts with an accuracy level of below 1% just by feel and so for wouldn’t need a PM at all…

I have a question for Assioma duo users. I just got a pair, and I realized that TR does not show L/R balance. Do I need a garmin type device for this or are there other options where I can utilize my iPad with another app to see this data?

I’d use your garmin.

Whilst I respect the trainer road developers decision not to show left right power I really so wish that they would at least log it to look at later.

Ok, yeah, this seems a little shortsighted not to, at least, pick up the data for later viewing.

Ok, so my garmin is pretty much my only option. Thanks.

Anyone UK based know the cheapest place to get a set of these dual sided?

Cheers
D

I usually just have my wahoo on as I do my ride and I can see my L/R, my TE, and Smoothness, in realtime, if I’m curious about analyzing that data over the ride I will record a ride file on the Wahoo as I do my TR ride and then view the data after the fact.

Check their website - I am not UK based - but the lowest price was directly through them.

I haven’t updated this firmware yet as I’ve had no issues with 4.04. Has anyone updated and is it stable? Any issues?

Excellent. Thank you. Btw, just watched your Kickr Snap videos as I ordered one on the weekend on the 20% off promo from CT.

Very helpful thank you.
