Endurance & Free Ride Suggestions

Would it be possible to create some higher Z2 endurance ride with a more reasonable warm up? The higher PL endurance rides have a short 5 minute warm up then jump straight into the 75% of the interval. For most cycling stuff, I probably don’t warm up as most (helps only being 37) but still find jumping into the peak Z2 to be both unnecessary and unenjoyable. Because of this, anymore I do most of my endurance rides as simple free rides, so I can warm up a bit better and do the higher Z2 parts of the intervals afterwards. I’d rather not have to select a separate ‘warm up’ workout before the actual workout. If I have a Z2 ride with 4 sections at 20 minutes alternating between 55% & 75%, is there a reason it couldn’t be the 55% first, and then the 75% portion? Ending with the 5 minute cool down after the second 75% session seems preferable to starting with 75% after a 5 minute warm up.

As a nit pick.. On the free rides, for the target power bar, would it be possible to make it green instead of red? Like most people, I do most my workouts as scheduled TR workouts, so always target for that bar to be green so I’m in the proper range. Showing it as always red in the free rides would seem to indicate that I’m not where I’m supposed to be. Since they’re technically rides at my own discretion, technically I am ‘always’ where I’m supposed to be..

Lastly, I think it’s been mentioned a ton before, but again… It would be amazing if there would be a way to just tack on a bunch of free ride time to a given TR workout. Maybe I’m overlooking the feature, but if I select a VO2/Threshold ride that’s 1.5 hrs, and I want to tack on another 30-60 minutes of Z2 at the end, it’d be great to not have to start a separate workout as it just messes with my overall tracking metrics. In turn, when I want to do this, I select a TR workout and then just do a free ride of the length I want, incorporating those intervals into the session then extending it how I please..

You can extend the beginning and end of any workout. Typically, I add on a couple of 10 minute extensions in the beginning to properly warm up. Also, frequently I will extend a two hour workout to three hours by adding more 10 minute extensions at the end.

How do you do this? I’ve only seen the extend cooldown sections, and it seemed to only give like one 10 min extension. I hadn’t seen anything for before, but appear to be overlooking it.

The same extension exist for the warm-up as it does in the end. You can keep hitting those extensions as many times as you like.

Hey @Trix8806

As @MI-XC-gravel mentioned you can extend both the warm up and cool down.

Here are instructions: How Do I Extend My Warmup/Cooldown

As far as the free rides go, these are meant for unstructured riding so there are no “targets” other than the ones you establish. But I will take your feedback to the team about the color red vs. green.
