Some good deals posted by @dcrainmaker ….Elite Direto XR for $599 is a great deal.
Anyone have a discount code for USAC memberships?
Checked the googles but found nothing. TIA

For our UK based friends, the Moore Distributing liquidation appears to be happening this week online according to Cycling Weekly. See the story here:
Thanks for this!
I love these knee warmers. They block wind and water very well.

GP5000 S TR on sale again at Bike Closet.
I’ve been super happy with Vittoria N.EXT lately but feel like I have to give these a shot this summer.
Stumpjumper evo frame on sale
Too big for me (I think mine are large) but good spot
My direct drive trainer (Elite Direto) finally bit the dust. What’s the cheapest direct drive trainer out there right now? Zwift Hub at $500?
The alloy one for 1500 is a killer deal as well. I got the same deal black friday, and cant beleive the value of this thing.
I just wish they’d give a similar deal on the Epic frames. Those are $6k and sale is still $5.5k. It’s priced to ensure the stock bikes are better deal than building custom from parts I guess. Only way a frame build works is if you already have all the components to install from a previous bike.
I dont think many of these companies are making much on frame only sales, their margins are much bigger on OE parts it seems.
Found a Direto XR for $400. Surely a better deal than the Zwift Hub?

Based upon specs, likely.
Based upon the issues I frequently see reported with many of the Elite mid-level trainers… I’m not sure.
- There are numerous topics here about issues with performance in ERG in particular, so worth review if you plan to use that at all.
- Outside of that, they also use a mechanical driver for the magnetic resistance adjustment that is slower than many other trainers. Not sure, but I’d expect the hub is relatively quick like the other trainers with that similar design (Core in particular).
I am biased against Elite purely from what I have read with their trainers over the years and admit that I’ve never owned or used one. But they seem to have notable issues that would concern me for my needs at least.
I had the original Direto (2018) and had some issues as well. ERG was slow but was manageable if I used the small front ring (big ring was unrideable). Also had to replace the electronics board 3 times, each had the trainer out of commission for 2 weeks. So I’m hesitant to go Elite again. But that price is hard to beat for a usually $800ish trainer.
Right now, it’s narrowed down to:
Tacx Flow Wheel On: $295
Elite Direto XR: $400
Zwift Hub: $500
Saris H3: $560 (with club discount)
Tacx Flux S: $599
The wheel on is as bare bones as I want to go, and having a direct drive I’m not sure I want to go back to wheel on. The Tacx is probably more than I really want to spend. The Hub or Direto are probably the two I really have it narrowed down to. And really, I just want to do TR workouts with ERG mode. Hence why I was leaning towards the Direto at $400.
Edit: The Tacx price is through Expert Voice, which you can sign up for using a USA Cycling link for 20% off Garmin products. The Saris discount is a personal code.
- For the same money and wheel-on, I’d get a Wahoo Snap instead which is on sale at $299 right now.
Considering the issues you’ve had with Elite, I understand the hesitation even at a good price.
