Maurten Gel 100… high glucose to fructose ratio of 0.8:1 enabling uptakes of around 100 grams of carbohydrates per hour

Sound very close to table sugar, but at a 16,000% cost mark-up!

Putting food on my table isn’t dependent on my racing/training results, so I won’t be shelling out $4 for a handful of sugar cubes. I’ll take the mondo cheap albeit more ineffective substance, even if it means I have to gulp some extra water.

Sorry for the sidetrack.

Especially not if you’re going to be doing lots of hill climbs. Maybe just stick with Hs in that case.

Thank you for this! I will be ordering mine tonight!

Used to justify the extra cost because I was able to only use one Maurten gel, which was replacing two of other types of gels (SIS, GU, etc).

Keywords there are “used to” since I don’t buy them anymore.

Ah, good point.

Though the black SUVs chasing you might help you go much faster. (Heavy water is used in nuclear stuff).

I’m a fan of the mix, but it’s crazy expensive. I live where it’s REALLY hot and my stomach turns easily when it’s 90 degrees and 90% humidity. I can’t drink other mixes (Skratch, Heed, etc. all turn my stomach) and instead tend to drink water with nuun and then eat my carbs in the form of bars, gels, and whole foods. Maurten is the only drink that works for me. I just save it for long rides when I don’t want to have to carry a ton of food or days when I need extra carbs.

It’s pretty thick in the bottle and tastes like plain sugar. No flavor.

Having said all that, it really is ridiculously expensive.

I bought $100 worth yesterday, that’s $200 worth of product and free shipping. That’s enough to last me a few years.

Maurten site is having the same sale - for those of us that want to buy the big boxes of 320 or gels (the Feed only had packs).

They had boxes last night on The Feed. They must have sold out. I wonder if it was cheaper direct from Maurten?

$48 fr box of 14 on Maurten site. I should know because I just ordered a ton…

I paid the same. Yay us!!

Anyone found a similar deal that ships to Australia?

Anyone who purchased a Wahoo Elemnt Roam last month, don’t forget to file for your rebate this month! The rebate promotion opened up a few days ago. It’s bit tedious.

If you have a USA Cycling membership you can get 20% off with Stages. Between their new lower prices and the 20% off I got a Cannondale Gen 3 left sided power meter (regularly $349) for $279. Pretty nice deal I thought

As soon as I sent that comment I thought to myself, I wonder if that works on the bikes cause that would be awesome! Fine print only says power meters and head units

Does anyone know approximately when Garmin Fenix watches go on sale?

I vaguely remember a sale last April/May?

How do you enter a promo code? Or get to 20% applied?

Log into your USA Cycling account on the USA Cycling website. Navigate to My Account, then Benefits, in that section you’ll see all of your member benefits and promo codes. I could give you the code, but I’d rather you all get USAC memberships in order to support USAC, especially in these crazy times

When you go to the Stages website, you have to log in and create a shopping profile in order for the code to work.

Other notable USAC discounts:
20% OFF @ Amp Human
15% OFF @ Athletic Greens
40% OFF @ KT Tape
30% OFF @ Levi’s
25% OFF @ Primal
10% OFF @ The Pros Closet (New Bike w/o Trade In)
15% OFF @ The Pros Closer (Part’s and Accessories)
30% OFF @ Science in Sport
20% OFF @ Stages, as mentioned
20% OFF @ Normatec
Up to 10% OFF @ United Airlines if flying to USAC event

A lot of these might pay for the membership, and then you can ride in all the great USAC events

Sales pop up periodically, but they tend to really drop a month or two before new models are announced.
