That is the best way of finding new friends. Buying them. The bike dealer is also very friendly now, after spending all my money there. Apparently I am just a pleasant person to be around

Isn’t necessarily true. The people that ride the most are not the best cyclists. So many people in my area ride 15 to 25 thousand kilometers annually, and 95% of them have rather low FTPs.
Train smart and then add volume, for the win.
