My one crash in 2017 was trying to avoid a worker who was blowing leaves off a sidewalk on the opposite side the street and suddenly decided to jump in the street to chase leaves and then crossed the double yellow lines and chase those leaves with his back facing the incoming flow of traffic (including me).
No amount of yelling, screaming, brakes squealing would go through his earmuffs. From his perspective, he was happily working and then came a cyclist tumbling to his feet.
