I am currently in Chile for the next couple of months.
Staying mainly in Santiago, and I’ve brought my road bike and am enjoying loads of the climbs!
I’ve got a 10-day trip to Patagonia coming up and I want to hire a MTB or gravel bike. There are several shops that seem to offer hire, although the bikes look pretty basic.
Does anyone have any experience hiring a bike in Punta Arenas or Puerto Natales? Any recommendation the best type of bike to hire (e.g. gravel vs hard tail vs full suspension) and the types of riding available and any route suggestions? I will be with family, so no bike packing, but could do some half-day or full day rides from either of those locations above.
Also, if anyone has any good road bike routes for Santiago / Valparaiso this would also be greatly appreciated!
