Cycling and running different recovery weeks

I guess quite a lot here cycle and run on a regular basis.
My cycling is TR structured and my running has a different structure.
From that derives different block length in weeks, eg current TR plan gives me a 5+1 (in weeks) block at the moment while my usual running block is 3+1.
In your experience and as far as you know is it preferable to have separate recovery weeks or should I lengthen my running working weeks to coincide with the cycling one?
Or, in other words, which option (separate or simultaneous recovery week) gives the body the best recovery it needs while maintaining a productive effort during the working weeks?
