Hi, I’m 53 years old Masters athlete. Recently I’ve been struggling with mood post high intensity sessions. I’m buzzed up initially but I find I’m uncharacteristically irritable that evening or the following day. I’ve recently tried fuelling my sessions with 60g carb ( I usually only train for 1hr) This helped a bit but I would really appreciate any advice people may have - thanks
Not enough carbs during rides and not enough recovery protein and carbs after rides helped my post-intensity crankiness. More focus on overall recovery and not being in the red also helped me.

Try to eat 2-3 hours before your ride, and then fuel more with more carbs during the sessions. Even if it’s only a 1 hour session you’ll recover more quickly and feel better.
