Connecting Kickr Bike to Garmin Edge as power meter only

Hello,

Just wondering if anyone has been able to connect a Wahoo Kickr Bike to their Garmin Edge as a power meter only, rather than a controllable indoor trainer? If so, how were you able to do it?

Cheers.

I haven’t got a kickr bike but do have a normal kickr.

I don’t think it’s possible to link any type of wahoo smart trainer to a garmin edge as just a PM, however, I dont think it really matters.

I often dual record with my edge and TR and as long as you are not running an interval session on your edge it will not try and control the trainer - so i can get power and speed/distance data from my kickr onto my edge while also using TR to control my kickr resistance without issues.

I haven’t done it with a Kicker but I have with other smart trainers. With the trainer awake and near the Garmin, it’ll show up under sensors as a PM as well as a controllable trainer. If you pair it as a PM, that’s all you’ll get. I always use ANT+ rather than BT.

Thanks. I have a pretty old Garmin Edge 520, so perhaps the device just isn’t capable. My Fenix 7 watch does seem to have it show up as a power meter only, but the screen is far too small to use for workouts

I’ve an old 520 lying around here so I tried it. It finds my trainer under Sensors-Power, but when I try to pair it, it doesn’t connect. So, maybe it is a 520 thing.
