So I’ve been trying very hard to stay consistent this year and hit my numbers. I do work an inconsistent job that puts me on nights and days so sometimes I’ve had a hard time getting my rides in or a quality level. this means I end up missing or changing a workout about once a cycle. I’ve been moving forward and improving, but today I got up planning to ride this morning and I’m finding I need to detect my ftp before starting. This is what I’m getting:
I mean I think I have the same bug - I’ve returned to TR after a long absence, auto estimated my own FTP at 185 to allow for losing a lot of fitness, did a ramp test that got me to 187 as i wasn’t in fact dead at the end of it….TR said actually NAH, 175 is you, then today tells me its gonna be 167 in 20 days? Thanks lads. If it dropped from 225 to 187 in a 18 months, then how when i restart training is it going to go to that of an emaciated victorian 6 year old in 20 days?
Fair - but still a bit weird that it would assume a big drop in 20 days when its got many years of data and a cold restart that tested at 187 to assume there’d be any drop from that low level , thats all. If I put in a plan I assume it’ll go “oh yeah so his ftp will go up”, but why would it predict a drop? Just confused about that.
OK scrap the above, I didn’t realize what it was trying to do, my assumption was wrong., its just looking at the planned stuff forward, not anything to do with the history, my bad. No error or bug.
any update? I was traveling/racing last week so i was less concerned about it since I had a pretty decent idea what i was going to be able to do for the race and the week before was a rest week anyway, but now I have returned to my regularly scheduled life/training. When I look at my workouts they say “more data needed.”
there are predicted workouts on there. and a plan. and if me following the plan 90% of the time is going to result in a 60 pt reduction in ftp, why would i follow said plan???
