Coffee - Show us your set up

It runs parallel to the « this is (are) my bike(s) » thread - OCD one day, OCD always.

I want that grinder :grinning:

No new machine…but decided to add another pour-over option to my existing Kalita Wave setup. I’m a fan so far - currently brewing Counter Culture Nueva Llusta and really liking it

I love my Jura. I have had a S9 since 2010. Runs like a champ.

Chemex is always is always in the rotation for me. I’ve got a Hario as well, not sure if it’s the paper they use but I prefer the Chemex filters.

I was saving up for an Italian machine but had this consumer dual boiler gifted to me which does the job (and of course I am grateful for). The grinder is a simple Sunbeam but I put a shim on the bottom for a finer grind and it works a treat. I spend my $$$ on good locally roasted beans.

It is great to see the variety of set ups. What a great thread.

I’m about to shim my grinder, I’ve been grinding for espresso with it for a while but as it has broken in I’ve gotten well into the adjustment range and now sit pretty far over to the fine end of the range. Seems from what I’ve read I can bring it back to the middle of the range with shims though.

which grinder do you have?

I’ve got a Sette 270

A bad tradesperson blames the tools. The rest of us get on with business with the tools at hand.
Not to say I don’t like fancy tools.

I’ve been knocking out great coffee on the same setup for 12 years. I’ve only stripped it down for repairs once in that period.
Good quality beans and a fresh grind are king.

‘Mongrel Joes’ from South East Sydney for the caffine kick prior to TR. :ok_hand:

Awesome. I just bought a shim kit from eBay ($4) and the instal was really easy. The grind is so much better…and it’s from a cheap grinder!

I’ve been ordering mine from Di Bartoli. So far so good, but happy to try others too. White Horse, etc.

I was working for someone involved in the operation and they kindly hooked me up with some fresh beans. It was fun to see how the flavour changed from fresh roasted to fresh(ready).
Good caffeine kick. Pretty tasty robusta roast.

This is my new set up - a Sage Barista express pro. (Breville in USA). A lockdown purchase.

Loving it so far.

Fresh beans from Pact coffee, Rounton roastery or Horsham coffee roasters.

If I enjoy it, I guess I have to send it back.

Awesome!

I had picked up one of the smaller Aeropress travel models to carry with me, and of course have not been able to travel since
