Coffee - Show us your set up

Yeah. I can’t brew with anything else now. I don’ like not knowing what is going on with the pull. The single shot basket actually makes a brighter shot normally. I think it focuses pressure a bit better.

Man just because we like a truly good cup of coffee or espresso, doesn’t mean we cant still appreciate the things that got us there. I lived up in the Boston/Providence area for a few years, and I truly understand the Dunkin experience. It wouldn’t be my first choice, but I don’t mind swinging by there from time to time, call it nostalgia or whatever, but it is what it is.

Dunkin Donuts was a place for me and my friends to hang out back when I lived in N. NJ. Back then I did not know any better, so this was the best coffee and donuts I’d ever eaten.

Haha yea that true for sure. No love for dunkin from me personally unless in a pinch. It tastes so watered down. No idea what the ratio they use. My go to is usually 1:17.

Eventually I am going to get a proper espresso maker just to pull shots. I live a latte every now and then is good but I like espresso straight up just like my coffee. Are there any out there that are good at just that?

I wish mine would allow for direct to a cup… would be great for that afternoon cup when I don’t want to brew a whole pot!

The demise of my old Jura after 10 years service gave me the opportunity
to look at different processes and machines although it reduced down to taste, ease of use and build quality. I can count on one hand the times during that period i had a better espresso and as a bean to cup machine, one press and you’ve got a great espresso.

The new model was about half the price of my previous purchase and the build quality isn’t as good but the taste is on par. And as vice’s go it could be a lot worse

Yes and that was the main reason I went with the 10 cup thermal carafe w/o the heating plate. I usually only do the 4 cup line. I did have to make a wooden block “mod” though as there is a button that needs to be depressed on the thermal version so it works with my cup.

Agree, still you drank two cups of aluminum parts due to the Nespresso capsules. No offense, but the amount of aluminium necessary per cup of coffee is astonishing. My wife is using a Nespresso machine as well but she uses capsules produced from wood. Anyways, stay save and healthy.

much appreciated

Needs more carbon fiber parts.

Baratza Encore grinder and a Moccamaster here - nice and simple and we love the results. TBH I look forward to my morning coffee every night before bed

Link? I’d like to check it out. I usually send my pods back to them for recycling, but this would be interesting.

Nice cup. Ha

Love my moccamaster as well. Since getting it my v60 is dormant.

No shot porn from the espresso machine today…but here is my setup

Would like to upgrade the Sette 30 to something with a little more precision and of course always have new machine envy - have been lusting over the Pro500 as of late.
