Coffee - Show us your set up

I have no issues with mine. The trick is to blow it several times to make sure there is no condensation left.

Another great resource is Best Coffee - excellent for finding new coffee spots when you’re in a new city/part of a city. One of my most used apps when travelling. You can also find smaller cafes to order beans from.

Or for UK based readers, this link has a list of roasteries that I use to find new beans etc. World's Best Coffee Roasters - Best Coffee

You can blow it all you want, there is still way more condensation than any rocket machine I’ve used. More than my single boiler baby gaggia i used to have as well. Plus, the big drawback, is that the heat cycling times to get back down to temp to brew are simply not cool. Also I’ve never used a single boiler that takes so much water flow to get the steam group purged. I’ve used other ECM machines and am a fan, but not of this one.

What you’re describing almost feels like a different machine to me as I’ve experienced none of these issues.

Another Aeropress user here. I love experimenting with different brew methods.

I won’t dare show my basic nespresso machine lest I incur the wrath of the coffee enthusiasts lol I kid! I do have the nespresso and it’s a fair compromise in price/quality. We had a not totally entry level delonghi machine (in the $200 if I recall) at one point and we had a couple of them start leaking water, so I think the jump to a level that is good/durable was a bit more than we wanted to spend. Maybe someday!

Love the aero press. I travel for a living…well, I used to. So I used to grind a full bag before a trip and bring my aero press with me with the Fellow Prismo attachment (https://www.seattlecoffeegear.com/fellow-prismo-aeropress-pressurized-filter?gclid=Cj0KCQjwhZr1BRCLARIsALjRVQMAB599BZP58euB4P2cclD4nFcXaVPwqtkbXIeaS8OTJuO8iGVofEcaAhVWEALw_wcB). Reusable and I like the pressure it presses at. Also, I ran across a video with the inventor of the aero press who said to use much cooler water than conventional wisdom would dictate. I think most competitions are still using around 200deg F water, but this dude said 170deg is ideal. I use the 175deg button on my kettle and just let it breathe for a second before pouring, figure that is close enough.

@professore, I also travel for work…airline pilot.
Have you seen the Aeropress Go? It’s more compact than the original and the filters fit inside. I love it. I use an immersion heater that plugs into the wall to heat up the water.

I boxed up my Silvia back in 2010 when I remodeled the kitchen and it got stuck in the basement after business school and kids took over my life.

Got it out this weekend and it still works like the day I last used it.

Same here. jobwise.

I really love the Fellow attachment. I think it works better than the paper filters personally. I just deal with whatever hot water source i have avail. I have been flying international only for the last five years or so, so pretty much everywhere has a kettle in the room.

We will see if the Moline Holiday Inn Express has a way to heat water without giving myself cholera once all the furlough shenanigans are through. :man_shrugging:

I see we are going to get into shot porn…sweet.

Nice work.

I don’t care for her steam function, but she pulls a helluva shot.

Great idea,
As a former only tea drinker I always drink a coffee just before a ride. Currently with a very basic setup. But as I know myself I assume there ll be an S-Works like upgrade soon.

I like to keep things simple, so it’s either French Press or Chemex for me. Although I’m currently out of Chemex filters so I have been on a bit of a French press kick.

Is that a standard ECM naked portafilter ?
