So excited about this for traveling to races and for bikepacking, just delivered!
Miir Pourigami
That looks way more stable than the silicone thing that I take bikepacking.
Even so, making a nice pourover while out in the wild is just about one of my favourite things to do.
Glad you are enjoying your setup.
Something you need to be aware is that depending on your water you will need to be careful on how often you clean the boiler. You need to find out how to properly descale the machine and donut no less than once a year. Alternative you may want to look into line filter for espresso machines and maybe hook that bad boy into a line. The espresso filters will remove most of the minerals that will build up in the boiler.
I have a miir travel cup for my morning coffee and it’s very nicely made.
I’ve got their camp mugs, they’re a bit big for my cup holders so I don’t travel with them much but they keep coffee so warm, even without the lid, I hardly use my other mugs now. And unlike other stainless they’ve never had any affect on the taste of my coffee.
Don’t laugh… But when it comes to non-espresso coffee (basically anything I make with my Technivorm) I use these: AVENSI Coffee Enhancing Glasses – ICOSA Brewhouse
At first, I thought it would prove to be a gimmick… But dagnabbit, they are indeed awesome.
Those are lovely glasses! The entire process of coffee is all about aesthetics. What you see, smell, touch, taste… all of it should spark joy. The vessel from which you drink impacts all of your senses. ICOSA and Kruve both make some nice glassware. So many coffee drinkers treat the cup/mug/glassware as an afterthought. I think that’s a huge mistake. It is an import part of the process!
I will have to check with the coffee store about this, the one where I got everything is one of Stockholms highest regarded coffee stores. There was a full service done about a year ago, and they said that the water here in Stockholm is so good so dont even need to filter it or have one of those bags in the machine tank.
But I got very clear cleaning instructions and even got a cleaning kit, they said to strictly clean the machine once a week, and the grinder once a month.
So gonna adhere to that, considering that I have already gone through about 2kg of beans on the machine in the past 2 days, it might be good to do once a week.
Included in that cleaning was:
- Backflushing the e61 head and gasket with cleaning pellets
- Cleaning both steam wands
- Cleaning the portafilter in hot water bath with some pellets.
But thanks for the comment regarding the boiler, ill have to check regarding that
Working on getting even grind distribution before tampering (and yes, I did order one of those coffee distribution spinner things haha…)
this is actually a super helpful tool.
I got the 58mm one home today, and it has some play in the portafilter. Is it worth going up to 58,5mm for a tighter fit or does it not matter that much?
Usually they sell slightly larger outside and smaller inside…
This means the tool will seat in top of the outer of the portafilter while the inner will seat inside the porta filter

Another tool i recently found is a filter that seats in top of the puck…
It keeps the machine super clean plus it adds a bit more pressure. It works super well!
Highly recommended
You’re assuming that Amazon tool tolerances are going to be precise enough to ever be snug.
If you have digital calipers and can see your portafilter sizing and the puck distribution tool and how far out it is.
If it’s enough that “sizing up” will cure this you could try.
In the event you did drop $300 on the original distribution tools you have a basket problem and then you’ll need to address it from that angle.
Just got these Kruve EQ cups as a Christmas gift and brewed the coffee with my new Kono dripper following the bre method by Lance Hedrick. Delicious and just looks cool.
Fully utilized the benefits of a double boiler machine…
Did 9 lattes today for people at our new year’s party…
It did not took over an hour like the last time!
It’s a great thing to have isn’t it? I made at least 10 drinks back to back over Thanksgiving. Only thing slowing down my workflow was needing to refill the water tank (machine was temporarily relocated to make room for prepping/serving food).
No, no, not at all! I bought a pretty nice one that was made for 58mm. They even had a model that was 58,5mm that explicitly said that its gonna be a more “snug” fit in the porta filter.
My question was only if it really mattered or if 0,5mm or such “gap” doesn’t make a bit difference…
Won’t make a difference
You’re only setting an even bed with it
Our set up:
Sage / Breville dual boiler
Lagom P64
We used a Sage Barista Express with integrated grinder for 2 years before upgrading
Interesting setup… Usually a grind like that would be paired to a much much expensive machine…
