Cheapest Tablet

Thanks so if I had a fire tablet I’d just go to something like this and press " Download apk"

Do we know why trainer road isn’t on the Amazon app store?

I’m not sure if that’ll by pass the current Amazon settings. I done similar and it didn’t work. I Googled and it did work.

Yes, I have a ton of apps I installed on my fire 8 from apkmirror. I never liked the curated Kindle style to the fire, so I customized it so it’s basically like any other generic android tablet. There is more to it than just downloading, but not much. Typically the sites will have instructions, but you need to make sure you find a reputable site otherwise, I would imagine you might open yourself up to malware.

I just bought a Samsung Tab A7, which isn’t necessarily the cheapest tab available by any means, but on the more affordable end compared to many.

I went for it because of the decent spec, Android 10, and camera which seemed ideal for when Group Workouts are brought to the mobile app.

It hasn’t been perfect so far, but I’m hoping that’s just due to Beta App stuff.

It looks great and the connectivity to my devices is great. The new app doesn’t perfectly scale to the bigger screen the way I expected, but I’m getting used to it and it’s not offensive.

Just curious if you have any more thoughts on using the A7 with TR? I’m currently looking at replacing my older model which works erratically.

I’ve said before that its a shame that trainerroad isn’t available on the amazon app store for kindle because that is a very cost effective TR device - but you currently either have to side-load the app or install google play.

It’s working great. Better than on my phone recently which is a change even.

The only issue is just the one where the post workout survey always pops up in portrait despite everything else happening in Landscape and my tablet being hard mounted in that orientation.

Anyone using Samsung tab s2?

I am not anymore but I did for a long time. I never had any problems with it. It was great because it has ANT+ and my HR monitor at the time was only ANT+. Now I just use my Iphone or Ipad. I only got rid of it as it was starting to get a bit outdated for a lot of new apps.

Alternatively get that Fire to HDMI widget from Apple and connect to an old TV or I expect these days you can pick up a small TV from a supermarket for buttons. I used to do that before I stole my wife’s iPad.

But to use it only with TR it’s ok?
Not to slow?

A used iPad or refurbished iPad will have a better screen, better specs and more importantly; be supported with software updates for far longer than anything android.

If you’re already an iPhone user it’s an easy choice.

Iam not a ipad ou iphone user.
And iam having problems with bluetooth connection and i have ant+ sensors and use it without any problem.

It was not too slow for me but it has been about 2 years since I made the switch from it. Not sure if any changes to the Trainerroad app since then would cause any issues.

My iPhone/TV setup was perfectly fast enough for Zwift and TR.
