Can you create a workout based on a past event?

Hello,

Can you create a workout based on a past, completed event of mine? If so, how do I do that?

Thank you,
Floyd

Hi. You can use the Workout Creator sw/download to manually create a workout/intervals.

I have done it previously for an event I was doing. I would split your existing ride into intervals (climbs, descents, flats) and have these as interval blocks at your desired power.

Ie IRL a 5min climb will probably have a varied power, but use the avg power for the 5 mins as an interval block.

You could analyze the event yourself and break up the hard efforts into intervals, shouldn’t be too hard to replicate a similar effort depending on the length.

Once you have that mapped out, there’s lots of online tools like TrainerRoads workout builder app or pro tip… use ChatGpt to build a .fit file for you and upload it to TrainerRoad.

You could use this tool to convert at GPX to ZWO and then this one to go from ZWO to ERG or MRC. I think TR can import those file types.

Wahoo App will do that.

Depends on what you want to do. A workout is different than a simulation. A simulation adjusts resistance based on terrain that was encountered during the ride and you shift as you would during that actual ride. A workout is a series of intervals (power, rpe, etc), which don’t normally correspond to a real ride. So, you can ride a simulation, or a workout that has intervals that roughly correspond to what the real ride demands. TR doesn’t do simulations, per se. TR is workouts. You can do simulations using a Garmin Edge cycling computer or other platforms like Rouvy.
