Can I adjust my phases?

I have a B race in two weeks (my A race is really a series of races, and this is one of them, but cant have multiple A races). However, TR has me scheduled for a rest week this week. I’m feeling really good, and think the whole thing would work better if I extended this block by one week and and basically use the rest week as a taper the following week.

However, can’t figure out the right way to get the software to do what I want- any tips?

@testdouble With a B race on your calendar I don’t think TR has you taper, or not very much, so you could drag / drop your interval workouts from next week into this week. Alternatively, you could just add AI Workouts to this week, matching duration, zone, and interval type.

In my experience I’ve found the TR AI plans to be good and recommend just following them. I had a week-long work trip come up somewhat unexpectedly and tried to ‘extend’ my three-week block to four by doing the above so I could align my recovery week with the business trip … and I failed both interval workouts last week. I should have taken my recovery week last week and just figured out the intervals this week. Just my $0.02.

Hey @testdouble

The Recovery Weeks are fixed, so you will have to manually adjust these if you want to swap out a recovery week for a training week. I would be mindful of how the rest of the training stacks up, I would not do more than 4 weeks of training in a row before hitting a recovery week.

B Events have openers the day before, so if this is a series, then I would mark the one race you want to do best at as an A Event, or if you don’t have one, then maybe make last race of the series your A Event. Even if your Race falls into a Recovery Week that’s ok. The important part here is consistency and not over do it… the races are part of the training too
