A mirror link, AWS or Google or similar could help, but it might not be worth it if the update will soon download & update in a modular fashion rather than the entire 300mb package having to be redownloaded.
For the first time ever, production, production beta, or new beta, it took an unusually long time for my workout to show up on TR web. Usually, I close TR. Open browser and it’s there.
It took several attempts including restart before I could edit (i.e., leave a comment) for today’s workout. I could enter the text. Hit save. Then nothing. After a restart. It works. Maybe related to #1 above.
When viewing on the web, the power source is wrong. It says Neo, but power source was definitely the p2max.
The resistance turned up a little doesn’t seem to do anything to the reported speed. Looking at the Strava analytics the speed graph looks really weird-- front loaded really high then pretty much standing still. Also my first broken introduction to Spanish Needle, OMG
windows 10, as of yesterday i’ve been using it fine, finished a session yesterday and saw a message saying an update was available and chose to update on next start. Tried to open from my shortcut this morning but saw a message saying shortcut had been moved. Uninstalled the exe file which I had, downloaded again but now when I run the exe it won’t do anything. Nothing.
Hey guys, not sure if anyone’s already brought up this issue - or indeed if it’s just me - apologies if that’s the case (too many comments to read!) - but here’s my problem:
My Wahoo Tickr Heart Rate Monitor will not connect via Bluetooth to the new Beta app. At first I thought this was just a normal device connectivity issue so I troubleshot it in the regular way - still no success. Out of interest I opened the (non-beta) Trainer Road app and the Tickr connect 100% fine. Straight away. full signal. I was jumping between the two and just could not get the Beta to discover or pair with my Wahoo Tickr HR Monitor.
For me, this means I just won’t use it until that’s sorted - I want HR data for every ride.
The template is as follows:
Platform: Mac
Version: 2019.16.0.30-Beta
Devices: Wahoo Tickr HR Monitor (using P1 pedals which connect fine - via bluetooth).
Connection: Bluetooth
Mode: Standard
Not sure if this is the place for this but since moving over to the new desktop app the connection is being lost every 2-3 minutes, its really frustrating. I have changed the battery and the rest of the set up is exactly the same.
So you closed and reopened the app and the workout finally synced? I wonder if this is related to other reports of the Ramp Test not uploading until restarting the app. Perhaps it doesn’t apply to just Ramp Tests, if it is, in fact, an issue. I’ll add your report to the open issue we have.
This one is odd, it looks like at the end of the workout the power source changed to the NEO. Like 1 second before the ride ended. The way it works is that it shows the last known power source, so this technically isn’t a bug with the power source showing incorrectly, but maybe a device issue. A very ill-timed dropout or something. Sorry about that happening.
Hmm, really sorry about this happening. You mentioned you were on 2019.16.0.30-Beta - that version is quite behind. The most current is 2019.25.4.44. There’s been some device work and I’m wondering if you’re on the most recent one if that’ll fix the issue. Additionally, if you have two instances of TR open at once (beta & production, for example), the Bluetooth module is going to be “taken over” by one or the other. Make sure that production TR is completely closed.
If you’re still having issues after updating, let me know. I’m able to pair a TICKR via Bluetooth on the most recent beta on Mac. But keep me in the loop!
Hmm, sorry about this happening. Which ride did this happen on? What devices do you have paired to TrainerRoad? I would just like to take a look at the logs to see if I can get an idea of what’s going on. Thanks!
Sorry about this happening, I’m not sure what would’ve caused that. We can delete your app data, I think that’ll fix that issue.
Next to the start menu, use the search box and type in %localappdata%. That should redirect you to a folder - scroll down and delete any folders with TrainerRoad in the name (there should be a TrainerRoadData and a TrainerRoad (Beta) folder).
There’s another file worth deleting. You should see a pathway like this in the top nav bar: Users > [username] > AppData > Local. Click on ‘AppData’ and open the ‘Roaming’ folder. There should be another TrainerRoad folder in there, delete that. Then reinstall the Beta from here: Join the TrainerRoad Beta Program to Get the Newest Features - TrainerRoad
You might want to also delete any TrainerRoad .exe files you have, and remove the program using the ‘Add or remove programs’ tool in Windows. Then just reinstall it from that link above.
Hope that helps! Again, apologies about it happening in the first place.
It happened yesterday doing Frissell +1 and on the 15/6 doing Pheonix, I persevered with Pheonix and changed my battery half way through but Frissell I abandoned eventually
Oh okay … that’s a bummer … is the link for the latest download just the same link I used last time? I can’t see a way to update it from inside the app. I haven’t received any notification that it wasn’t the latest either.
The update should download automatically in the background while the app is open. Once it’s complete, a green banner will show up across the top of the app and indicate that you should restart the app to apply the update. There’ve been a few reports of the update process taking a long time, and we’re looking into it.
Check this forum out for the most recent update version. As a note, the Mac version is 2019.25.4.44 right now. Typically, that last number changes sequentially, so the the next update will be 45, then 46, etc.
According to the ride logs, those rides were done on the current WPF production app. Could you make sure you’re on the most recent Beta? The version number for Windows is 2019.25.4.48, and you can see that in the Support tab of the app.
Thanks I gave it a shot this morning - I just re-downloaded the app before I saw this message!
But it worked fine today - devices connected fine, other than the heart rate dropping out (or unusually low really) about 2/3 of way through workout. Any ideas whether that’s a Beta issue or just my TICKR?
FYI I just bought a brand new one to rule that out as the problem. Connected totally fine straight away to Beta. But the incorrect reading is concerning (went from around 170 BPM to 130 BPM in my fourth and hardest interval! You could see my workout from this morning if you’re interested.
Thanks for getting back to me. I’m glad that everything, for the most part, worked out today. I took a look at the ride itself, and that definitely looks like something went wrong. That said, digging into the logs didn’t show anything wrong as far as connectivity goes.
It’s possible that the new TICKR might’ve shipped with a half-dead battery or something. I doubt that actual hardware of it is defunct, but try changing the battery if you haven’t already.
Also, try out this little trick to see if it helps. Press ‘option + shift’ while clicking on the Bluetooth logo in your menu bar. An option to debug > reset Bluetooth module should show up. Reset the module and let me know how your next ride goes.
Also been having issues connecting Wahoo Ticker via bluetooth - not even an option the last few rides so connected via ANT+, bluetooth connected this time to Ticker. Workout power/cadence froze about 52mins into workout then Ticker dropped out about 56mins, stopped and connected via ANT+ and worked for the rest of the ride.
Hope the feedback helps.
