I havenāt had any problems lately (other than my heart rate monitor being dead), but ⦠Iāve been shutting off Bluetooth before rides. Iām going to try leaving it on for the next ride and see what happens.
Thanks for the report! Did all of your Bluetooth devices drop out or just the heart rate monitor? Iāll use a TICKR connected via Bluetooth on Windows tonight and see if I have any luck. Typically, as it goes, I never have luck reproducing issues!
Iāve not heard of this happening as a result of the beta app, but Iāve seen it when the partner integrations on Strava are disabled. Make sure theyāre enabled here: Log In | Strava
Did the picture end up coming through to Strava? Try re-syncing with Strava by going to the ride on the TR website, scrolling down to the bottom of the page, and clicking the Strava icon.
Iām unable to reproduce this but it could be a screen resolution thing or something. Was the window maximized or anything? If you could do a little more digging that would be helpful! Thanks!
Hmm, I had reported a similar issue and we had fixed it before. Youāre on the most up-to-date version of the app, correct? Should be 2019.26.1.50 on Windows now.
The calculation in the workout and the post-ride summary are actually not shared code so there could be discrepancy there. I sometimes see +/-1, not anything more than that, though. ![]()
New betas should be out now.
Windows: 2019.26.1.50
Mac: 2019.26.1.46
- Fixed a crash when undoing an interval extension
- Fixed an issue when viewing charts for outside workouts
- Changed the interval time in workout player to show the first tick of the next interval
- Minor UI fixes and back-end changes
One of the back-end changes is to help us diagnose/identify the issue that is causing rides to not sync immediately. So the more rides we get, the more logs we have, and the closer we get to fixing it!
Thanks yāall!
@ming first time only trainer @ 52mins, second time only TICKR and couldnāt see it as an option to reconnect via bluetooth, ANT+ was there, connected and worked for the remainder of the ride.
Since the updates the TICKR has had issues with Bluetooth and typically only shows up via ANT+ as an option - really only connected via BT to give TR feedback.
TR on Neo 2 is also smoother via BT than ANT+ - not sure reasoning just some more feedback.
Cheers,
Andrew

Hey Ming
I did a re-sync and TR sat there for 15 mins and did nothing (except the sync buttons for both Strava and TP blinked). I went to Ride Sync and disconnected and reconnected and the pic appeared after syncing (which was instantaneous). So looks like itās fixed itself⦠so all good, thanks!

I just did a ramp test which reported a very small bump in FTP from 205 Iād manually set it to 208, but that doesnāt appear to have been āsavedā anywhere into my account. Iām 99% sure I hit the āAccept new FTPā buttonā¦
Version yesterday was 2019.26.0.49-Beta
Yep, you were right
looked like it was full screen but clicked the full screen button and the slider appeared. Sorry!
Glad that worked! Let me know if it happens again, although I bet that would be more of a web/sync issue rather than anything with the beta app. Thanks for reporting it, though.
We have an open issue about this. Could you clarify what exactly you did? You did the Ramp Test and accepted the new FTP and it didnāt change in your account settings? Or did you deny the new FTP and then go manually change it after the fact?
Thanks!
Still could be an issue - you shouldnāt be able to get into a scenario where things donāt scroll. Iām unable to reproduce this on a Windows machine with different resolution settings, but if you find anything else to get this to happen again, let me know. ![]()
I accepted the new FTP and it didnāt change in my account settings.
Thanks, Iāll add this to our issue.
New betas should be out in ~30 minutes.
Windows: 2019.26.2.51
Mac: 2019.26.2.47
Release notes:
- Added power and speed to the tooltip when hovering the mouse over outside rides
- Fixed a log-in issue
- Fixed an issue where interval beeps were delayed
- Fixed a minor UI issue when adding workouts/plans to your Calendar
Thanks!
Hey @ming, I did all the things you said and this morningās workout worked PERFECTLY - as far as I can tell. No TICKR issues at all. Awesome. Thanks man.
Awesome!! Glad to hear it! Let me know if any other Bluetooth issues come up. ![]()
During my last workout I couldnāt disable the on-screen instructions with the āTā keyboard shortcut (was using full screen mode) . Will try again on my next session.
Thanks TR
I have had a strange issue in the last three or four beta upgrades. I click on the green bar and the upgrade installs. The the app restarts. A second text window opens and all sorts of stuff goes flying by. Some lines say various exceptions and numbers. It goes by too fast to read. Then this window closes and the app restarts again. Everything works normally after that. What is going on?
Platform: MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Early 2015), OS 10.13.6
Version: 2019.26.2.47-beta
Devices: not paired
Connection: N.A.
Mode: N.A.
I have uninstalled the Trainerroad production version and deleted all instances of
files and folders in the ~/Library/ folders with ātrainerroadā in the name.
Now my workouts are loaded correctly in the calendar.
However, hitting the reload/refresh button (right at the top) clears all workouts, except the Ramp tests!
I have to restart the app to load the workouts correctly in the calendar again.
I think we may have seen another user run into this one yesterday. Do you have your computer or TrainerRoad application set to be in a language other than English? If so, we think this is the source and an engineer will be taking a look at the issue in the near future.
My system language is set to Dutch.
I have nevet set a language in the Trainerroad app and it has been always in English, but in the last beta everything was suddenly in Dutch.
Regards, Frank
Ming,
Following up on this, I downloaded 2019.24.2.37-Beta (Windows) and the application went up top and past 60:00 with no crash or lockup. I was doing Free 75 instead of a more prescribed workout (Andrews) when I first experienced this.
Iāve had this issue a couple times again. To reset the scene:
- Platform: Windows 7, 32 bit
- Version: 2019.24.0.45-Beta
- Devices: Quarq D-Zero, regular fluid trainer. Also a Garmin HRM paired via ANT+
- Connection: ANT+
- Mode: NA
The first lockup was during Lion Rock, ridden on June 22, and happened at 27:06 into the workout. I restarted the app and reloaded the workout and started it at approximately the same place and continued without incident.
The second lockup was this morning during Dardanelles -1, and happened at 27:30. This time, when I restarted the app and reloaded the workout, the partially completed workout came up with the option to resume. As Iād ridden for a bit after the crash and during restart, I resumed the workout at such a time as to have the interval time be close to the prescribed length. I did not complete this one, so the lack of data after 50:20 elapsed time is not an error.
As I said before, my userid is jlittle. Feel free to look at those files.

Havenāt seen this one before. Mac or Windows? As long as the app is successfully updating, thatās good. I wonder if thereās a setting on your computer that parses information/data in a live window for some reason.

It sounds like you mightāve ran into that issue that @Geoff mentioned - weāre looking into it!
As I said before, by userid is jlittle. Feel free to look at those files.
Taking a look, havenāt seen anything in the logs. I think there might be a potential memory leak or something. I havenāt tested on Windows 7, and I donāt really have a way to. Thanks for the detailed reports, Iāll issue this up and a developer might have more insight.
