bl**dy hell that’s a a hard one to complete. I haven’t tried for a month or so I will do it this week.
Good luck buddy. I’ve tried it several times and not once have I completed it at 100%. That said, I’ve been learning some tough lessons recently and I’m hoping you’ll do better
I went deep into it this morning, I got 10 laps in and my legs blew apart. pedalling squares.
Which do you prefer/hate more; Nevada City or Tour de Nez?
On paper they are both 1.0 IF, but for some odd reason i find Nevada a touch more tolerable. It might be because the punches aren’t as hard, you only do 140% compared to multiple 150-160% hits in TdNez, or because you can settle into efforts a bit more?
I’ve done TdNez and knocked it back to like 95% to make it a good actual workout a few times leading into few weekends before crit season. If you can finish that workout at 100% you’re due for a FTP bump, but I use it to keep an eye on overall workout NP and know that if you’re finishing that with a 310-320NP or higher there aren’t many races that are going to be harder than that in real life, given you can sit in wheels and draft in real life.
Any over-under type of workouts will do the job.
Yeah, I know that feeling well
I’ve never actually tried TdN. If I’m honest, I’m not sure I’d be able to walk away!
Hmmm - because @Nate_Pearson and I are racing a Crit in a few weeks Down Under, Sydney Australia, which is known for its hitters, I’m adding in crit workouts and sprints into my schedule. So TdN will get put into the schedule. Sharktooth also looks like death by a thousand cuts
I found Sharktooth to be much easier than Nevada. Once you’ve cleared that sustained effort at around 40 minutes, you’ll mentally get it done
kinda depends how you’re going to win.
if you’re a sprinter, SPRINTS. max watts.
if you’re not, max aerobic with a race winning move.
