Avoiding a red day on a group ride

I’ve got an easy group ride this weekend, but my calendar is showing a red day, and it’s been pretty spot on lately. This particular ride is important to me. I can turn down Fridays workout (and I’m okay giving up the training), but is there a better way to have it automatically adjust the workouts?

Do you have the group ride scheduled on your calendar? If not, that’s the first step

Yeah, and it hasn’t made any changes.

It looks like your training is going really well. :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

If it was me, and assuming you feel as strong as that calendar suggests you should, I’d eat like a champ for the next 2 or 3 days and push on through. Your volume isn’t that high that you’re going to dig a hole with a short period of pushing the envelope.

Push the threshold ride to Sunday and it will automatically adapt?

Actually, it looks like you’re on a three per week plan so , I would convert the threshold ride to your group ride.

Just cancel your Friday workout. Have fun on the group ride.

Easy, don’t record the ride, no impact on your red day. Or disable the fatigue.

I’m on a Masters plan for partly that reason. It let’s me compact my workouts into three days Tu,We,Th as the middle one is an endurance one. It leaves Friday (except for a short and easy commute) free so I can enjoy my weekend or when I was racing TTs to recover for them instead.

I assume you are joking.

Not at all. I disabled mine. it doesn’t offer me any value.

You suggested not recording the ride.

And disabling RL/GL.

Regarding not recording the ride: I went for a wander with the kids in the neighborhood and recorded my walk, I got a yellow day from it :man_shrugging:t2:

Fatigue detection can be tricky like that apparently :man_shrugging: . I went for a walk today (a red day after a longer ride yesterday) and it made Saturday a yellow day for me, suggested dropping my 60 min endurance workout and dropped my FTP detection for Sunday by a point. When I deleted the walk from the calendar, tomorrow is no longer a yellow day, no more suggestion for a rest day instead of 60 min endurance workout, and FTP prediction back up a point.

Decided to let yesterday go, and today’s ride felt great. It may cost me a bit on my projected FTP. But this is what the work is for.
