Understanding violation of red days

Hey all,

I am fairly new to TrainerRoad. I wluld like to understand the red light/green light feature a bit more. I recently had a red day in my calender but still went on an outdoor ride with medium intensity for 1.5 hours (shame on me).

So far I assumed that this would result in another red day the following day. But it was neither red nor yellow. Is this because the feature only looks one day ahead/in the past and therefore after a hard session it suggests a red day or was it because my 1.5 h session on the red day was not too hard for it to accumulate more stress and prolong the red day streak?

Thanks in advance for helping me get a deeper understanding of this feature:)

Cheers

Thank you for the detailed reply. I will dive more into it as suggested but this already answers it for me. Yes, I was referring to the training on the 16th but also to the rides on 9th and 10th where both days were red and I trained and the next day was green. But on these days it was probably the fact I didn’t use HR or power and marked some of it as easy so this makes sense to me as well.

Thanks again!

Out of curiosity, how does this interact with the training plan sensitivity setting? After OTGG this year, I nudged my setting up to “demanding” (4 out of 5) because I don’t have anything I care too much about left this year, so no biggie if I blow up. It feels like TR is less inclined to give me yellow/red days, but it’s hard to say for sure.

Right, if you set it to more aggressive, it will affect how aggressive the fatigue management system is
