Hi, due to knee op I have decided to not run first half of 2025, the plan is to race a 70.3 Aquabike in June followed by a week in the French alps at the end of June/ early July. Would a TT plan work better than a dedicated tri plan as no need to hold back on the bike? Just turned 60 so definitely a masters plan, normally complete 70.3 bike leg in 2:40 to 2:50 , I have completed two 50 mile TTs in 2:10 /15

Hey there and welcome to the TR community!
If there is no need for runs/swims in your plan, then I’d say yes, a TT plan would probably work better than a dedicated triathlon plan.
The volume of our tri plans includes swims and runs, so if you aren’t running, you can use that extra volume for cycling.
Since you’re doing an aquabike, though, this would be assuming you had your own swim workouts planned. If you don’t, I think it would still be beneficial to stick with a tri plan in that case so you can have a swimming plan to follow along to as well. You could just ignore the runs in your case as you won’t be running.
Hope that helps – let me know if you have any additional questions!
