Adaptive Training Workout Ratings

How would you rate a workout that you had to turn down the intensity of the last interval in-order to finish, very hard or all out.

Check out my list and see if that helps answer your question.

This came from discussion with TR and some of my own practices as AT evolved. Here is the official TR article on it too, if you want to see their info:

Thanks. That helps. All out seems to be the right answer.

I would tend to agree based on your comments. I had to select the same for a workout last week as well since I used a backpedal and even bailed and swapped trainer modes to ride half of the last interval easy.

I don’t know if this has been covered elsewhere but what do people generally do for completing a survey for an actual race (TT in my case). There’s a case for either Very Hard or All Out but if you marked it as All Out would TR assume you’d “failed” in some way?

Hey @adehughes

Answering a Post-Workout Survey with Very Hard or All Out does not tell the system you have failed the workout. Instead, it prompts a secondary survey to make sure that when your survey response suggests a very hard effort, the reason for the challenge is accurately incorporated into your adaptations. It’s not a sign you’ve made a mistake or an indication Adaptive Training is misinterpreting your work. In fact, it’s exactly the opposite!
