I record all my rides along with other health related data in a spreadsheet. Today i rode ‘James’ for the 16th time. a 1.5hr Z2 with 85 continuous minutes @ 74%ftp. Its the ride ive been prescribed more than any other. Its interesting to look at my progress over the course of the 16 months since i rode it for the first time and how much more power i can put down for the same perceived effort and heart rate. Anyhow, for any data nerds like myself, i highly recommend logging your rides in this manner. It makes visualizing progress and making comparisons nice and clear
‘Time’ is the time of the morning i weight myself each day
‘Distance’ is the distance covered on the same zwift map (Tempus Fugit)
I also log data from my Garmin watch daily including steps, HRV, training readyness, sleep score
The data is then presented in the Dashboard
I’ve done a comparison like this just not as deep using the My Ride feature at the bottom of the workout page.
I don’t know much about train but same workout at a higher power but lower heartrate has to be good in my book.
I love what you’ve done, but feel like this is something that Trainer Road could probably implement? I’d love being able to compare identical workouts with now vs 2 years ago. Not quite enough to do so by logging more data manually, however.
That’s good progress on the NP.
I thought workout levels were supposed to be a property of the workout, and that the number would be consistent over time. Of course, TR might need to tweak a level every now and again. But using this view it seems that they change frequently though in a small range. I wonder if this is continuous refinement by the TR models, or whether they are getting recomputed due to something else, like changing FTP.
Actually they also vary dramatically from athlete to athlete even when ridden on the same day (see All Rides). Now, I don’t know what workout levels mean - they vary by athlete and by date?
That is outstanding progress on the Watts and Watts/Kg over a year and a half - congrats!!
I know the levels all start the same but then change depending on what was done.
When an athlete completes a VO2 workout, the athlete’s VO2 level gets bumped up to the level of that workout (possibly with some reductions). But the level of the workout in the library doesn’t change. I suppose this particular view could be showing the level accomplished, but given the examples I looked at it means that a lot of athletes are short-changing/failing their workouts. Still confused.
Aerodectes -1 is a 5.8
It can be a bit confusing, I never thought about how I got such wild WL numbers at the end, didn’t really think I was doing a little extra on the workouts.
