Yes, he confirmed it was a long sleeve Viper.
Btw… those vortec suits look nice but way out of my budget.

I’ve been using the 2017 model NoPinz suit for the past few years, but I just joined a new team that’s sponsored by Castelli. Probably going to pick up the bodypaint suit and see how it does. Other than that I’d been eyeing the current NoPinz Flowsuit and Velotec as potential options. Looks like the Flowsuit may not be a great option now though. Vorteq is nice, but $$$$…way out of budget.
Velotec- Monday brain fail for me, yep the vorteq ones are also way way beyond my budget.
Don’t tell me you don’t like the price of Vorteq R&D project Overshoes?
Probably paid less for my bike.
Hi all,
with the Troika TMD already purchased the (at this moment) only thing missing for my Shiv for 2022 season would be some nice dinner plate in a 1by configuration. I checked the obvious suppliers of those like wattshop/ pyramid cycle design and aerocoach with their ARC chainrings and they are all rather pricey, especially as they both ship from the UK which isnt part of the EU anymore. So I searched a little where else I could get a 58T 130BCD Chainring for my Quarq spider and found Garbaruk located in Poland.
Anyone has experience with their products, especially the aero chainrings? Any feedback would be welcome.
I run a Garbaruk 60T on my ShivTT. No issues whatsoever and it has beautiful machine lines on it.
You guys are talking about the Shiv TT, is that the newer disc model? I’m building one (disc) up this winter (more likely ready for the '23 season the way the supply chain is going) and am wondering what rear disc you are using? I’m buying the module, so I get to choose/chase all of the parts. Right now, thinking either Aerocoach or the Roval. Of course, Specialized says the bike was designed for the 321, but there is not real data so not sure if there is any benefit or loss for either. Any feedback would be appreciated.
Yes, Shiv TT (Disc) that was first ridden during the 2019 TdF.
The difference between discs isn’t gigantic, so I probably makes sense to go with what’s available and sensibly priced.
However, here are a few things to consider:
Regarding the all out fastest wheel:
I don‘t think there is one wheel that is always the fastest wheel and performs well on any frame.
However, the two wheels you have pre selected are certainly up there. They are ultra light (around 1kg), are used by top teams (for example JV uses unbranded Roval 321s, while Ineos has used AEOX, now switched to PC Blur) - which suggests they perform extremely well aerodynamically, they are TLR, and I have only heard good things about these.
What separates the two is a few hundred dollars, a few grams, the type of construction and the width.
Another wheel I have only heard good stuff about and that apparently tests very fast is the Troika Wide Disc.
Thanks for the great reply. I’m running a Zipp Super 9 currently on my Speed Concept, but just want to make sure I’m not missing anything in this new build.
A few nitpicks…
Technically it was the Giro when it first debuted.
This should read “go with which one makes the best WHOMP WHOMP WHOMP sound.”
More seriously…
100% agreed. Find a wheel that is generally fast and works for you. Make sure it has good WHOMP. Ride the snot out of it.
There is no “fastest” wheel and the differences between various discs is minimal and would likely never be an issue for riders of our abilities (even TT specialists).
I hadn’t readjusted for the Giro to be before the Tour again yet
Some ‘22 season bits are starting to arrive…
Waiting on some more di2 cables to complete the conversion from cable to di2.
Many building new TT’s with new groupsets for this year? I’m in the market for a change and looking at the new (to be released) Factor. But looking at component availability got me considering postponing.
SRAM (RED AXS) seems to be running low, especially the brakes are hard to come by (disc) and the new Shimano D-A do not even have a dedicated TT-groupset. And with 9100 shifters and new drivetrain and brakes, deliverdy seems to be July or so.
Any brands delivering?
Thanks for the reply. Guess I will also get the Garbaruk chainring, just need to cancel the order at my LBS that I made in August with first delivery in 1 week, then 1 month and now unknown
Mine will be here Friday!
Nice! For the speed concept?
I’m thinking about the Aerocoach Vorzug bar for my pursuit build. Not sure if anyone here rides the track…
I have Wattshop on my TT bike, but at 2x the price and not including a base bar, it didn’t make sense for the track build.
I have a Shiv TT disc module and 12 spd Dura Ace on order to go with the AeroCoach bars. I decided to get the Shiv because I have pretty much maxed out my Speed Concept (and done well with it) without going into new cockpits, marginal gain level wheels etc. When I looked at what I was going to be spending on those items, it made sense (to me, anyway) to get a disc bike to future proof the investments rather than tie it to the rim brake Speed Concept.
Now just fretting over my wheel selections. I probably won’t see the Di2 for a long time, so I have plenty of time to examine all the marginal wheel gains.
Good choice and no doubt you will have a fast bike! I recalled Rony Kuba indicate that his shiv Disc was slightly faster compared to the SC he previously owned.
