Zwift "Premium", TR Merger or Add-In speculation

I’ve read (Slowtwitch I think) that Zwift was looking at/considering/researching buying TrainerRoad. What is this status or truth on this?
Reason Is I am at renewal and Zwift destroyed my old running pod maki.ng it useless by only allowing it on a treadmill and Zwift. I don’t Zwift but use Trainer Road for my training and just basic health management.
Thanks for any inside info

I moved your post under the lengthy one covering the topic.

  • We know pretty much nothing, as the wild range of speculation above can show.

The following picture is a good summary of what we know:

Ha! That’s funny…and I guess unfortunately accurate!

Two theories. Zwift is the real world and our reality is actually the simulation or Nate And Eric are reptiles from outer space. It’s one of them but I don’t know which

Admit it, Chad. You were bored and found a way to bump this thread back up.

Sooooo bored

Chad’s burner accounts

So what you’re saying is that if I reduce my weight in the Zwift app, that means I get a real life weight loss. But if I eat nothing but celery for a week and my scale tells me I lost 3kg, I really haven’t lost anything UNTIL I change my weight in Zwift…interesting indeed.

That’s just being silly… everyone knows you lower your weight in zwift first than try and diet down to it.

Zwift weight is like “residual self image” in the Matrix… It’s how I see myself.

Man, I’d love to see a chart of real weight vs Zwift weight. I feel like such a sucker sometimes for actually trying to be accurate with having my weight set to 78 kg, and will actually adjust it up and back down as needed if I’m well-hydrated or whatever.

Same. I have to avoid some posts on the Zwift riders page because it kills me to see people brag about sub-60 min alp climbs and then look at their photos.

So Nate and Eric are really the ones controlling the world, but making it look like they are about to be bought by Zwift to hide that fact?

This has been an entertaining thread to read, but Nate’s comment about happily being underestimated keeps replaying in my head.

Twist…

Z came with a BIG buy out offer and Nate told him to pound sand!
And now Z people are trolling him by doing all things they have been doing the last few weeks…

I actually do keep mine up to date with my weigh-ins, so based on the variability there I would say my Zwift weight is typically within +/- 1kg of my real weight. I.e., good enough IMO.

I don’t weigh within 2 hours of the race or whatever it is for the top leagues. If I get close to the A boundary again I probably will start necking pints of water before my weigh in though…

Similarly I keep my weight relative up to date and would say in general it is within +/- a kg or two.

I am a heavy cat c rider so a kilo or two either side makes relative little difference.

Yes there are cheats. I use Zwift power which does help in dealing with this.

There is a lot of nose sky attitude towards Zwift on this forum I find.

I use both platforms for different purposes. But ultimately it is all cycling (of sorts)
