This thread is like the greatest boxset ever. I can’t stop watching it. ![]()
I can help you by telling you not to bother ![]()
I’m the same. In fact, when I try the ones that promote realism, I just find myself staring at the pixels and complaining about how all the trees look the same or the edges of the roads look wavy or my tires are sinking into (or above) the pavement. In Zwift, I don’t do that. I can’t explain why, but my guess is that the beauty and various distractions have me enjoying the skies, dinosaurs, flowers, neon lights, or whatever, and I don’t take the time to notice anything to be critical of. I’m not a huge Zwift lover (the UI is TERRIBLE), but I definitely prefer the Zwift graphics.
Here, I copied and saved the article as a pdf. Hope this helps

Fulgaz videos are great but you have no other virtual cyclists on screen which I like have other cyclists on screen to chase down. They just have a data grid of users.
Rouvy has realistic videos with on screen cyclists virtual and other. I haven’t tried Rouvy in awhile but when I tried it, it seemed like the gpx route files were not smoothed so route felt very choppy as far as resistance that would get applied to the trainer.
RGT is good but currently a ghost town.
I really like this tho….
@Nate_Pearson the rumour mill is a giant snowball now. The longer you are silent on this, the more credible this rumour is…
more a reason to fill it with TR ghosts! ![]()
You’re absolutely right, TR’s customer support is spectacular.
Nate might have given hints already…talking about „gamification“ and „achievements“:

btw: nice research Rizzi ![]()
I’d probably call it simplicity! ![]()
Yup. And after listening to a recent episode of the Fitt podcast that @peteryock linked to earlier in this thread, I think a partnership is more likely.
It was released 28 December so everything should be up to date. If you take what Nate says in that interview at face value, it seems the most likely thing is a partnership of sorts. Nate mentions that what TR would get out of the partnership is the reach bought by Zwift’s advertisement. (He expounds on the different marketing strategies that TR and Zwift take.) He also reiterates that he is open to licensing the technology. And he seemed very happy to be in charge of TR and continue being in charge of TR. I’m quite sure he is aware of how most takeovers go.
Wow this thread rivals the Dylan thread.
I’m hoping there isn’t a merge. Zwift has a corporate feel to it. I’d hate to see Trainerroad improve so much just to be acquired.
Zwift kinda reminds me of Disney.
I think some sort of licensing arrangement of intellectual property is much more likely than a buyout/merger and benefits both companies. Zwift would get better workouts/plans that could drive some growth keep venture capital flowing. TR gets a significant infusion of $$$ for AT development and data from all those Zwifters using the new TR plans.
Potentially a win-win for both.
As long as those ghosts ride a bit erratically as I like a good unstructured Zwift ride where I chase after people who pass me. ![]()
It’s not like DCR to post sensationalist articles so there could be something to this ![]()
Perhaps an official integration rather than a takeover would be more likely
I think you missed this thread ![]()
