Sorry, couldn’t resist ![]()
If you would like to join a group wo, you are very welcome. Were doing it 3 pm central european time, which i think is the same as 9 am eastern time.
Planning on starting between 1245-1300 Eastern here (UTC -5) TODAY.
Feel free to join. Or just for a bit. Or just drop in to yell obscenities.
I bow down to the greatness of those who can do the firework section as prescribed ![]()
I looked at my summary from last year
"
Then I got to that last 30 min block with sprints mixed in and I experienced a new level of hard."
That’s the section affectionately known as “the fireworks”. #Shudder
I decided to do it today and stick with Disaster-2. Anything harder is too tricky to recover from while working through a training plan. However, I had to take two breaks (after the second threshold block and halfway through the fireworks section)…
. While tough, strangely, I now want to do it again in 6-8 weeks…
. Good luck to everyone riding Disaster on the official day!
I made it! Two pee breaks, 250g of Gatorade, the WTS mixed team relay preplay from Hamburg plus the women’s Rio Tri replay, 96 miles on Zwift and a cookie got me through. Pedals connected to TR and the Neo2T to Zwift was the way to go for me. I started on the Waistband then went rogue.
Overall, not that bad. Of course the fireworks weren’t really fireworks. They were sprints for me and thats what matters I guess. Everything else to spec.
Good luck y’all and have some fun.
It appears you and me
So, morning of! The big day! Sadly, not feeling at a 100%. Will try anyway. ![]()
