Wrong workout duration pushed to Zwift

Last 2 Saturdays I did Auburn workout. Its 75min. However when I loaded and completed the workout in Zwift, it got completed in 65mins. I am not sure how that happened.

Someone from trainerroad can check that out in my profile

Hey there,

It looks like this may have been an issue where the active time and total time were affected by some bad data, or an issue with your connection.

As you can see in the image below, your actual elapsed time is over 1 hour and 20 minutes, but your active workout time is 1:12:05. This is likely due to the time between 20 and 30 minutes, where you had some signal issues.

Did you experience any issues with your trainer, HRM, or other sensors? Did you pause the workout at any point?

Let me know, and we can dig into this a bit more.. :detective:

Hmm I certainly don’t remember pausing. I am doing an exercise today. I will keep an eye. I suspect it’s more than 60 min exercises. I have an upcoming one on Saturday. I will update

Ok I think I found the issue. The drop occurs if I switch Zwift app to background. I was searching my music in YouTube. Then I switched back to Zwift and YouTube went to pic-in-pic mode. That time is dropped. I tested it today again in my workout and I can see the drops. The crazy thing is the clock in Zwift still advances but only a few seconds. After that it stops. But the workout is on going and I get correct power in ERG mode.

Hmmm, yeah, that is a bit strange..

You might want to try pausing your workout in Zwift next time to see if that helps.

I believe pressing the up_arrow: on your keyboard will bring up the option to pause.

Let me know what you find!

You are likely correct. When Zwift is put into the background it effectively ‘pauses’, creating a gap. As @eddiegrinwald suggested, actually pausing the workout in Zwift before putting it into the background should rectify the issue. Or just use different devices for Zwift and music, if possible.

Yeah thanks, I will pause from now. But it’s a bummer that Zwift doesn’t run in background correctly. TrainerRoad is flawless in doing that
